Making the D1 playoffs in 2010 and suffering a heartbreaking loss 24-21 in overtime to Twinsburg the young Cougars IMO will be a serious force in 2011. Returning 8 starters on defense and 6 on offense I think the boys will do well I foresee two scenarios. If they remain D1 they will make the playoffs again and get past that first game and possibly win a few more. If they drop to D2 I see them making another run at the D2 title. From what I've been hearing Coach Mayzes has a fully dedicated squad with everyone hitting the weight room consistently. Returning starters.

Allen Gant 6"2 215 WR/SS senior
JQ Bowers 5"10 175 RB/CB senior
Jay Fisher 5"11 210 FB/MLB senior
Jalen Marable 5"11 170 RB/CB senior
Travis Miller 6"5 230 TE/DE senior
Nick Josza 5"10 180 RB/OLB senior
Rilie Neil 5"9 196 DL senior
Tarryl Hamilton 5"9 216 FB/DL senior
Michael Gross 5"11 190 OLB senior
Jordan Meehan 6" 180 OLB senior
Kyle Stout 6"2 270 OL senior
David George 5"11 230 OL senior
Austin Valdez 6"2 220 QB junior
Andy Clark 5"11 260 OL/DL junior
Garret Samson 5"11 265 OL/DL junior
Derrick Hartman 6" 286 OL/DL junior
Zack Zoltowski 6"4 302 OL/DL junior
Nate Hall 6"1 185 WR/SS sophmore
JJ Pinckney 6"3 170 WR/FS sophmore
Ryan Stout 6"4 190 TE/DE sophmore

It will be interesting to see what happens with Napoleon in the NLL now. I really think that they will give Southview a run for their money. Although some of the schools in their conference aren't THAT great, Napoleon has played with the traditionally good big boys and have done well.

Napoleon is a great addition to the NLL. I see them finishing in the top tier of the NLL finishing behind Southview and Maumee. They'll get a tough welcome into the league by opening league play at Southview.

Congratulations to JQ Bowers for finishing 9th out of over 750 kids at the Nike Sparq combine in Massillon.

As you said I agree completely Maumee and SV should be very good at the top of the NLL next season. You named off the SV starters returning (atleast 14) If they find a qb they'll be tough to beat.

For Maumee they have 8 returning starter on D. There 3 d-lineman plus a sub return along with all 5 linebackers and there safety. Theys need to replace 2 olb's but have a couple juniors in King and Duby along with a senior Coy that are likely to do so. Then at corner only 1 player graduates. Phenix, McGovern and Schneider all played last year so that is likely to continue.
On offense the Panthers return 5 starters (6 if you count rb Phenix, who ended up starting 8 after long was injured). Schneider of course is still qb. Then Karchner, possibly the best lineman in the league at center along with 3 other returners on the line. Maumee does need to replace all 5 wr's maumee used at the end of the season last year but had the same problem heading into last season and they did just fine.

I think the league is going to come down to Maumee vs SV as it has the past 2 seasons. Perrysburg started about 12 seniors, most there line and qb/rb's. Steve Slocum returns but idk if much else does. A-W could be solid again, basically playing with the team they had the first 5 games last year. No great playmakers like briges or green though. NV will struggle, new coach plus young team doesnt look promising. BG just hasnt been good lately.
Springfield I believe could surprise. I know they graduated there rb but if leroy has a great year I could see them top 4. And honestly I know very little about Napoleon othe then they are typically a solid d3 team. Missed the playoffs by a game last year I believe.

NLLBEST, Southview has a QB in Junior to be Austin Valdez he is more like Alex Pidcock but with a better arm. Due to Southview having two senior QB's last year and several close games he saw limited action. He also missed the majority of the season getting over a bball injury. This kid is a stud with Southview returning 8 starters from the defense 2 linemen and Denard Pinckney the linemen won't be that difficult to replace and I foresee JJ Pinckney or Nate Hall to take Denards place in the secondary.

Yes Chad Valdez was his older brother Austin is the youngest one. I have also been hearing about Leroy Alexander possibly transferring to Southview next year. But people have told me he has said that since his sophmore year.

Ehh idk about that one. It wouldnt completely shock me considering how the Springfield basketball season had some ups and downs but I wouldnt count on it. I know this isnt related to next football season but Ive heard the Vandercooks moved back to florida after football ended? Is this true?

Awwwww skank made a funny. Your obsession and delusions have taken their toll I see. It saddens me to know that you require an intervention, commital, or meds. In all of your research of the Southview program you missed the fact that Rossford is no longer in our league. We have replaced them with Napoleon while you guys have picked up The Little House Red Prarie Christian School. By the way 0-40.

I don't know when they left your league, but you have played them for the last 9 years, correct?

Please run down your schedule for '11 for us.

skank, they left the league because they were a small d3 school who had been struggling to compete in nearly every sport including football. I dont know if you know how leagues work but of course SV and everyone else in the league has played them every year since they joined the NLL. SV has won/shared the league title every year since i believe 2007 and played atleast 2 playoff teams the last 2 years. (league only got 2 teams into the playoffs last year and just 1 the year before so its tough to get more then that when that takes up 7 or the 10 games). Oh and they won a state title just 3 seasons ago. Im not sure how you could hate on them for beating a team they must play by about 40 points the last couple years.

Sv's 2011 schedule (assuming its the same as 2010):
St. Francis (A)
Toledo Rogers (A)
Toledo Start
Anthony Wayne (A)
Springfield
Perrysburg (H)
Maumee (A)
Napoleon (subbed them in for Rossford)
Bowling Green
Northview (always A technically)

It doesn't matter if they were in your league or not, you still played them every year. That's my point. It doesn't make your league look any better either that they were in there.

No one ever stated that the NLL was the FED, or even a strong conference. Historically you have had your top tier teams and your bottom tier teams. With Southview and Maumee being the top two for the past three years. Napoleon should be a better addition to the NLL since they are stronger than Rossford was. Coyotes if we do stay D1 that would be a good game but we may have to play it at UT do to our stadium being less than desirable.

You are correct, no one ever stated that, you did however comment on the Tigers schedule on the Massillon thread, so I simply started doing comparisons between our recent past schedules and yours.

At least they haven't lowered themselves to pulling in a Canadian School to get a cheap with, Skank

You look pretty silly criticizing someone Else's schedule when Massollin is obviously "dumbing down" theirs.

The words you eat will be your own

A cheap with? Wth does that mean?

Looking over their schedules over the past 10 years, a Canadian opponent may be just what they need.

Massillons opponents from '02-'04 169-127....From '05-'07 171-124....from '08-'10 186-106-1....Looks to me like they're getting better.

And you look silly spelling Massillon, Massollin. And butting in.

And according to young Mr. molin, they haven't lowered themselves to recruiting, and giving financial help to athletes from neighboring towns either....so what's your point?

Where to start

First, the one that looks silly is you when you come up with a word like "Wth", and then criticize someone's spelling

Second, no one and I mean no one, cares what Massollin's record from 2002 to 2004 was. So forget about it. That's the past. You're the only one that lives there. You're all alone (But you know that)

Finally, how can I be butting in, but you not?

To the Southview fans, I apologize for my interruption, and that of my old uncle from Tigertown. I'll leave you alone.

But, best of luck in 2011!!!! Win another Staye Championship!!

What's a Staye?

You don't know what Wth means?

You spelled Massillon wrong again.

Saying you don't care doesn't mean the facts are wrong....They aren't.

I'm not butting in, because Mr. molin actually butted in on my Massillon thread making smart alec comments long before I entered this thread.
