Bummer. I always always hoped he would get better. I remember him at Miami Trace knocking my school out of the playoffs 2 years in a row. My brother was at OSU when Art was there. He didn't like him very much. Its a wonder Art hasn't been 'hit' in all these years.

I actually know of a few people who got ripped off by him when purchasing OSU tickets from him. They were supposed to be discounted tickets and would be mailed to them from the OSU athletic department. They paid him but never got the tickets in the mail, of course. I don't know if this is the same thing but it's probably connected at least.

On a side note, I'm a MT grad and it's pathetic how people around there still kiss the ground Art and his family walk on. The dude is a freakin' POS and they treat him around there like he's a god. So I wouldn't be surprised to hear him swindling a bunch more of his 'friends' from that area.

Damn. I think he just ran out of chances. Oh well, he seems unfixable. Life in prison seems best for him at this point.

So I realize the lady in the story is old and the history and all. But damn, I don't how a person who has ever heard this guy's name would trust him one ounce if he said, "give me money".

Who in the hell would fall for the "investment opportunity" line, when the one presenting the "opportunity" is Art Schlichter?

I like his quote at the end of the article "I'm more sorry than people will ever know". BULLSHIT Art!!!!!!! You are a fucking POS that has fucked over so many people, you couldn't care less. How many times do you have to fuck people over and then continue to "feel sorry"?

It'd probably be a counterfeit.

My dad had lunch today with one of the guys who got taken on the OSU tickets that I mentioned earlier. The guy tried to call Art right then and there about this report and he naturally didn't answer. It went to his voice mail but he couldn't leave a message because the mailbox was full. So it seems he's got a lot of angry people looking for him at the moment.

Agreed.

I do feel bad for his nephew sometimes though. I know he caught an AWFUL beat down at OU because of it. I'm talking bad. People gave him shit all the time, then one day someone knocks on his dorm door and floored him. I saw pics, it was nasty.

I've known people who have similarly been swindled by Art. There's a person I know who used to work in radio with Art in Cincinnati. Said Art was the kind of guy who would go to church and steal the collection plate. I know the guy allegedly has an "addiction" or what not; but at what point does the excuses end and people finally say someone is just not a good person?

Well I went to school with his nephew and he was pretty much the biggest asshole off all time so I don't feel sorry for him lol I saw him put down way too many kids on a daily basis, including kids he had no business making fun of at all. On a side note, I'll never forget how he had a Marshall offer in front of him the day before the Trace-Springboro playoff game and basically laughed it off, said he was going to wind up at a way better program than Marshall. The next day he goes out and and absolutely shits the bed and didn't have any offers to fall back on. Next thing you know he's at Ashland and then winds up as the 3rd string punter at OU.

I even remember when he was irate one time during a study hall because Antonio Henton had just commited to OSU and supposedly took his spot from him smh lol

Exactly. That's what makes me sick about Fayette County. The dude is obviously never going to change and will always be a POS, yet they'll forever hold him in the highest regard just because of how good he was athletically, no matter how many times he either embarasses them or screws them out of money.

He could stand in front of me and say "I am standing here" and I would have good reason to doubt him.

What's funny about that is I'm sitting on the media bus from the hotel to the Superdome this year, and the guy sitting next to us starts talking to us because we're obviously the youngest people on the bus. It was Jeff Snook. Had no idea who he was, told us he wrote the Schlichter biography, I asked him how it went he replied:
It was the worst year and a half of my writing career, he was such an ass
lol.

That is a sad, sad story. There should be enough here to lock Art back up for another 10 years.
