should be a good game, Hiland has another tough game Saturday vs Ridgewood, not sure but I think Garaway is at Malvern Saturday night as well.

The TR has completely dropped off the radar!! I dunno if it is budget cuts or what. The entire newspaper has become nothing but a joke!! Yet, prices go up? LOL

About what I expected. A bit surprised each team scored as much against one another.

Wow. The game was closer than the final score suggested. I know I had Hawks by 7 but this was a closer game. Hiland hit the FT's.
Hmmmm. Hiland was 12-14 from the line and Garaway was 0-3 in the 2nd half. Home Cookin? LOL

Yes it was closer than the final score. Hiland led the whole game. Their biggest lead was 14 late in the 3rd. Garaway nailed 2 quick 3's to cut to 6. They got close but never were able to get the lead and Hiland pulled away at the end.september63;665276 wrote:Wow. The game was closer than the final score suggested. Hiland was called for more fouls in the 1st half. Garaway more in the 2nd half. Neither team ever reached the double bonus. Not a lot of fouls called in the game. The reffing crew did a great job. They had a few questionable calls, but that happens every game. Not sure where you get the home cooking. No one in the building thought that.

For the game Hiland was 15 of 19 from the free throw line. Garaway was 8 of 13 from the free throw line. Gotta love the home cookin.

nice game hawks! did the things you need to do to get a good win over a good team.
Agree the refs generally did a good job. the usual few missed calls, but they went both ways and certainly didn't decide the game.
Gotta came back and bring the same intensity tonite with Ridgewood.

Very fun game to watch. Dylan was a monster and lots of help down the stretch. Seger hitting the 6 straight free throws was good to see. Fouls maybe a little one sided the last couple minutes when the Pirates were trying to stretch the game out. I thought this crew overall did a pretty nice job.

The foul count was low and very even until Garaway fouled near the end to stop the clock. Rebounding was the biggest difference compared to the first game.

Hiland controlled the game, but their control got flimsy at a couple of points. They were on the verge of really busting the game open with that 14 point lead but Shutt got the timeout and got them regrouped. Which is exactly what you would expect from a first class coach and a bunch of kids with a lot of pride. Seger's FT's down the stretch were huge. Talked to a Gway asst after and he said they didn't want to foul Seger, but he kept rebounding the ball.
Looks like another Hiland/Garaway share of the IVC will happen, but Malvern and RW will have something to say about it yet.

great game, atmosphere, crowd....two neighboring communities (clones of each other in fact) that love their basketball........... thought Shaw played really well, his quickness is fun to watch, his old man was a stud at Hiland for old Charlie, Garaways guard play all around was impressive. Garaway has a very good team

So I shouldn't be that put off that I paid $14 for tickets that I couldn't use because the girls were playing in NCT? Thanks for letting me know I didn't miss much. I feel better.
