Zam do you still have access to all the areas on JJ? I was briefly on there yesterday and could still access all the forums.

I have access to all the areas. Before they went pay I got an email offering me premium for a year for free. I accepted the offer. Well about 5 days into the premium crap, I still didn't have access to the premium areas. I filed a complaint with the Ohio AG. 20 minutes after I got notification from the Ohio AG that they had contacted JJhuddle, I had a response from Frantz saying I had full access and to contact him directly if I had any issues.

It should tell you how much I actually did over there...it was probably only the 2nd time I'd been on there since they switched everything.

Yes, I still have full access - minus the private forum of course. I was pretty much along for the ride, too, sej, didn't do much moderating - probably why we got canned, eh?

Yeah, I am curious if he left while he still had the chance or if he was a fall guy. Of course, you could tell us it's none of our business and to fuck off and that'd be fine too.

That's what I'm thinking for two reasons.

1. Enough of the mods for that site who are here seem to have positive vibes about him and have mentioned he was a decent dude.

2. There have been reports that in his final days, he mentioned that he was just doing what he was told/toeing the company line.

Sort of thing that makes me think he wasn't down with this, but said what he was told to, saw everything turn to crap around him and wound up taking the fall because he was the main guy promoting the change to paying.

First of all, none of this goes out of here.

Truthfully, I don't know all the details and I didn't think it was appropriate to ask when he's just been laid off. It wasn't voluntary. He was told it was due to financial issues, so they were restructuring.


As far as the pay to post thing goes, he definitely wasn't the high man on the totem pole. That's part of the reason it pisses me off when people start acting like assholes about it. It was his job to maintain the forum, and that means implementing whatever is handed down.

He's a cool dude for sure...and that's saying something because I dislike a whole hell of a lot of people I meet.

I respect that. It's a "hindsight = 20/20" thing for me, as with the way things went down, it's clear he was essentially being used as a pawn. Anytime anyone asked him what was going on with the change and why it was being done, all he had was the "company line". And with him getting the boot, it looks like he was essentially told to promote a big site change that will be unpopular among the natives on short-term notice under the knowledge that if shit doesn't work out, he's canned.

I can see why someone who knows him and looks at him as cool would be pissed when others blasted him left and right. I also can see why those "others" did so. He was the main mouthpiece of this stuff and, for all intents and purposes, came across as being (along with Frantz) the main dude on the site.

In a way, I feel bad for the guy, since you, Tom/Apple and Peake have all vouched for him as being cool and undeserving of the backlash, but circumstances just painted him as a villain whether he deserved it or not.

Zam they still list you as a mod over there.
