I just found out that my ex girlfriend whom I was with for 4 years is pregnant. We haven't been together for 2 years but obviously she is still in my memory. For some reason I can't get it out of my head that she is pregnant. I guess because we were once at that level but it never happened. Is it weird that I keep thinking about it?

You are not weird for thinking about it. The fact that some other guy has impregnated her triggered your mind to realize it won't happen for the two of you. I know you probably delt with that before, but this really cements things in your mind. In addition, I think it is a primal urge to be upset when another man plants his seed in a woman we thought we had a future with. Whether we are over her or not. In time you will be over it, but it will probably be something that will knaw on you for awhile.

This. It brings final closure. Even though you may have thought you were over her the ideas you used to have about being with her long term and having kids with her and going to come back because you now must face the ultimate reality that those former dreams are gone forever.
