Over the past few years I always thought Hopslam was a bit overrated; I didn't care for the honey flavor it has but it's starting to grow on me now. The Ruthless Rye IPA is very good. The rye stands out and tasted even better when I had it while eating BBQ pork, the flavor combos were awesome. This time of year is awesome for good beers, I'm most looking forward to Troegs Nugget Nectar which should be coming out soon. Easily in my top 10.
Understandable, I have to admit the the constancy differs a lot from year to year for Hopslam. The first I had it was in 2006 and it blew my freakin' mind, but the the 2009 had some really funky stuff happening. While not bad, just not quite as good as the previous years. 2010 had less funkyness to it, but wasn't as good as in the earlier years. 2011 was much like the 2010, just a little less funky and this years has much less. More honey I guess is present in it this year.
I wanted to post more, but I'm drunj so I'll do it when I'm sober, whenever that happens...bottoms up !!!
