What was the longest play that you have seen in Ohio High School football?

A 109-yard opening kickoff return by Steubenville Big Red. Perry Jeter did it against Canton McKinley. This was before the days that a kick into the end zone was an automatic touchback. I was very young then, but I was in the stadium with my parents.

Longest play I saw live was Kyle McCarthy's 93 yard pick-six in the 2004 state title game against Versailles. I remember Versailles called timeout to run another play before half. I said to my dad and brother, "they better kick the FG here. If they don't, I'm feeling a pick-six." That play really turned the tide in that game.

Mogadore had a 105 yard pick-six this year. Longest play live I've ever seen would be Chuck Moore returning a kickoff 99 yards.

Greg Pshsniak from Salem returned a kickoff about 98 yards in the late 70's. I believe it was 1979. He went on to a stellar football career at the Air Force Academy in the early 80's.

The 100-yd INT return by Collaros is, I believe, the longest I've seen as well. Can't think of any other fumble/interception return from out of the endzone that could beat it.

Collaros' 100-yard interception against Dover probably took as long as any run. He had to juke in and out of many defenders.

Troy or Darren Davis from Miami Southridge in a state title game, 99 yard kick return after barely catching it and not falling back into the endzone for an automatic touchback. They were both unstoppable. Bradenton Manatee beat Miami that night with Tommy Frazier, who later took Nebraska to 2 National Championships. Troy Davis led the NCAA in rushing twice while at Iowa State. That game was memorable.
