Whoa.......What an utterly bizarre chain of events. I didn't realize half of us have the same first names.

BRF....Go Tribe!!!

Red Rum......Nedbert?...really? You do realize I'm sitting in your rental house watching PACIFIC HTS...getting ideas. I pretty sure I can buy roaches and carpenter ants online.

Miyagi.....outed myself? huh........retribution is imminent.

Beast.....Must of been a good time watching this fiasco unfold.

Ringz....not sure how you're involved in this....but anyone with 10,000 posts ain't innocent.

Everyone else......sorry for all the non football jabber most of you don't understand anyway. Lets get back to Football.

Here is your Triway perspective on the Dalton scrimmage tonight.

On offense: Dalton was bigger and quicker than I had imagined. The line has the potential to dominate some games. Obviously you are a linemen or two short of having a full line. The option worked well once or twice, I noticed some sets seemed to tip off what play was about to be run. I think if you can outsmart the scouting report you will have success. Passing the ball, your recievers ran nice routes and were open at times, the ball just didn't get to where it needed to be. The dive plays or up the middle plays seemed to get confused, I think finding the edge and utilizing your speed in space is the key to gaining some significant yardage. The timing on the passes and some of the little mistakes can be corrected in practice. I like your offense.

On Defense: Nice aggressive defense. The blitz especially up the middle worked well (especially when Triway missed a couple of trap blocks) I thought overall you played a fairly conservative defense tonight and teams that can mix up the run and pass might present some challenges. You have to close down some of those short flat routes, those seemed to be a sore spot for you tonight. I like the fact that Dalton is willing to take some chances on defense and any time you gamble you risk losing.

Turnovers were crucial tonight. Man duct tape the ball to some kids hands, I know the first fumble was a result of a big hit, but big hits are part of the game. Gotta hold on to the rock. The other turnovers seemed like carelessness with the ball. Again, something that can be fixed in practice.

Don't tread lightly on the Dawgs this year. I think they have something to prove and have the mindset to prove it. Again, I think all those Dalton kids are special because of the mental toughness they display.

Good luck this season Dalton, and thanks for having us over again this year. I really enjoy the annual tradition of this scrimmage. But if you could find a way to mix in a chicken bar b que that would make it even better for us fat folks.

Triway isn't in the WCAL so it is a moot point.

Tell us a little about ya...what school? Northwestern right? talk away....this is just shenanigans leading up to week 1. It goes away, no one wants to reveal too much, still getting players fine tuned. Trust me...most of the folks here know someone amongst the group..we are very helpful in texting updates to each other during the games and have good conversation. Some folks are just edgy right now....

NW report from my eyes:

Defense: Pass defense looked really shaky most of the times. Especially the long ball. CBs and Safety was caught out of position most of the time. Short passes were defended well although Mt. Gilead did not try to do many. In the end, NW gave up way too many completed passes over the top and middle zone. Run defense was ok most of the time. Gave up the middle more times than we would like to see. Outside edges seemed to do good on containing their big and quick QB. CBs did a good job coming up to help the run.

Offense: The most notable was the QB overthrowing most targets all night. Seemed very shaky and still protecting that shoulder from last year. Passes were forced and his release stopped short of follow-thru. RB for the most part was getting tackled by the grass. Had only one good run that was notable. Line inexperience showed tonight. Many missed assignments. Overall, seemed sluggish most of the time with small bursts of brilliance.

Overall: Play calling was safe as expected compared to what I have seen in practice. It looked as if the entire team did ok but more slug looking than they should. They have a very fast team but did not show it tonight. Hopefully it was on purpose.

A quick word on Norwayne. I'm getting this info from a buddy of mine so I'm not sure how accurate it is. For some reason Norwayne and Rootstown only played one half of football and Norwayne destroyed them. The score was 27 - 0. He tells me the scrimmage was a waste of time. Norwayne scored twice on the ground and twice in the air. They worked primarily on the running game. I was told they could have scored 10 times in the air if they wanted to. He also told me that all of the scoring last week against Black River was in the air. They have one reciever that has scored 3 or 4 times in the 2 scrimmages and seems to be Wallaces go to guy. I dont know his name and my buddy wasn't offering it up. Wallace supposedly has completed passes to 4 or 5 different recievers in both scrimmages. They have had some injury on the line losing one player for the year and another is out with a broken arm. He will return in a couple weeks. Overall the Cats gets a passing grade. They are rotating through linemen on both sides of the ball trying to find the right combination. Right now it sounds like the line is Norwaynes weekness but its coming along

Well ringz you pretty much summed up the scrimmage. We're very young, but the boys showed up better than I thought they would.

Oh. I understand it all, but I'm glad I've been absent enough to stay out of it. Haha!

Dalton did OK last night especially after giving the Titans good field position all night long. But the offensive numbers still weren't that good - During the 2 quarters of game-situation, Dalton's offense went 1-for-5 passing for 10 yards (ouch). 12 rushes for 31 yards. 2 total first downs. Compare that to Triway's 171 total yards and 9 first downs. Sure, Dalton had some signs of good things, but they still weren't that impressive. A text from a Dalton fan at the scrimmage: "This is painful to watch."

Ya there were some not so good parts for the Dogs but we have been used to having great players all over the field and we just got to used to the team we have now. Remember half of our starters will probably be sophomores. Growing pains are going to happen.... Good luck to the Titans this season!

Hillsdale/Crestview scrimmage was back and forth. Crestview dominated at times on D. Hillsdale had trouble running up the middle. Hillsdale seemed unmotivated at times. There were plenty of positives though, I believe the quarter situation ended 21-14 Hillsdale. Hillsdale's running backs have some speed...scored on 2 long runs, that were very well executed, was pleasantly surprised to see that. The Minnich kid is legit, if you don't get hits on him and get him to the ground....he will score. Crestview has another linebacker/runningback that was very impressive. Both teams should be encouraged by the scrimmage, lots of positives for both teams. Appeared to be alot of hard nosed athletes on the field making plays, fun to watch. Hopefully both teams will have great years.

Side note: I mostly read on here and don't post much, I love the banter between you regulars....it enhances my day! haha Hope all the area teams have safe week of practice, let the games begin!!!!
