all of the ideas are interesting, add 2, add 4, north-south, east-west, big-small.
My main line of thinking was travel distance & rivalries. Loudonville creates a natural Falcon rivalry and Black River gives the Huskies one.
Triway is a natural fit. I threw in Tuslaw because it's close to the eastern WCAL schools and their present out of conference schedule is mostly to all WCAL.
As far as travel, Triway is in Wayne County and the rest are very close.
I fear in the coming years, travel expenses could be a major candidate for cost cutting scrutiny. Also, gate money could benefit from playing teams closer to home.
Expansion is fun to talk about and I personally think it could be beneficial but there's probably some drawbacks which will stop it from ever going forward. We in the WCAL have it pretty good compared to alot of other conferences. Some of the travel times in other leagues are huge and there's always schools coming and going.
One last point of contention would be the "commish" position. I would probably be the likely choice but I've already committed to running the scoreboard at Orrville next year (per the Miyagi personnel upgrade plan). That would leave Ringz, Beast, GoFalcs and Paul in a brutal power struggle for the job.
