Well the top 8 certainly won't be.
However, since there is next to no game overlap between the WCAL and the top teams in Region 13, it seems a bit presumptuous to call that "realism."

Smithville/Norwayne
Hillsdale/Norwayne
Can either of these teams get a win?
Not likely. Hillsdale has a better shot, though, because of their more balanced offense.

My guess is Smithville probably held it, but I just don't recall anybody rolling up the consecutive 50-60 point games like the Bobcats.
Norwaynes prolific offense has to be on pace to break whatever the record is.
Not Smithville. I would imagine the most points they scored was in 2002, when they rung up 351 (only 229 in the WCAL).

After walking through the gate with the bell and making it to my seat, two Wayne County Sheriff Deputies come up and say they were told to escort the bell back out! So after a perp walk back out to the truck, I return to my seat trying to organize a boycott of the concession stand when about fifteen minutes later the same Deputies return. The one Deputy went to NWN officials and asked what the problem was with the bell at a football game? The official realized the gate attendants were being over zealous in protecting the integrity of the NWN stadium and football program told the Deputy to bring the bell back in. So that there would not be any trouble the Deputy walked back out to my truck with me and escorted me back in through a different gate. Yes I did lift the boycott and purchased a few cokes and popcorns at the stand myself.
I would like to send a big shout out to Deputy Ron Fletcher for going above and beyond in community service. If any one knows him tell him thanks again for me. I am taking a collection for the Wayne County Sheriffs Auxiliary.
Now for the game. For Hillsdale to be competitive in week ten, we need to see big improvement in our pass D and our corners need to really step up. O line will need to do a lot better at holding their blocks.
I was real impressed with the NWN QB and his ability to through the ball. The Huskies definitely have a bright future. It was an ugly win but we finally did get a win in West Salem.
Did get to meet Sydfl at half time and had a nice chat.
Repped this story.

Schrock will have to get this straightened out. I would like to think the Smithies will go with a ball control gameplan and try to keep the ball out of Norwayne's hands. Coach Schrock will have his boys prepared.
Smithville's DBs have pretty good speed, but they're small. If Wallace gets it up in the air, I don't see them getting much of a hand on it.
OQB;934050 wrote:What makes Norwayne so hard to defend is that they are well balanced....try to stop the run and they will throw on you, cover the pass and they will run on you. I think a team needs to be able to matchup 1 on 1 with the WR's to allow 7 in the box with one of those guys a spy guy on Wallace, as well as have a ball control offfense. If the falcons and or the smithies are able to do this, they will have a great shot at beating the mighty bobcats.
Yes, but that's no short order. Covering the Bobcats' receivers man-to-man sounds absurdly difficult.

I've seen them both play. I dont see it. Both have been a little soft in the defensive backfield and haven't seen anything like Norwayne. Norwayne can flat out score
I agree with all of this.
