wow--brings back some real disturbing memories....on a side note, we were at Arlington Cemetery this past summer and saw the Challenger Memorial, and you could sense the reverance--God Bless the families of the crew

inscription reads:

High Flight

Oh, I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
Of Sun-split clouds -- and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of -- wheeled and soared and swung
High into the sunlit silence. Hov'ring there,
I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through the footless hall of air.
Up, up the long delirious burning blue
I've topped the wingswept height with easy grace
Where never lark, or even eagle flew.
And, while with silent, lifting mind I've trod
The untrespassed sanctify of space,
Put out my hand, and touched the face of God

I was at A1A and Seabreeze in Daytona, riding south with my co worker. We saw it going up, then the smoke troubled us. We called the cable company dispatcher, she put on the channel covering the launch, and called us back crying.
The local tv station has a 1 hour special on Challenger tonite.

I was a senior in HS. A friend and I had just left a radio station after recording an advertisement. We stopped to eat at Wendys and heard about it.

I remember the day like it was yesterday.

I was sperm. Half of me was an egg.

Big events like this never fade from memory and thus time seems to freeze around that memory. While, yes, it was 25 years ago it is still a lasting memory. 2 years prior to this my father was killed in an accident,in January of 84 (27 years ago) I still remember everything from that day.

Hence...... It doesn't seem like that long ago.

Does it seem like 9/11 was 10 years ago?

Interesting read. Never heard that before. Couldn't imagine what it would be like to be conscious during the fall down.

A sad day, but also reminds me of one of the greatest speeches:
