Okay boys and girls, IVC league play starts in less than a week. It's time to let the fun and games begin. Hopefuly there will be enough original huddlers (and thankfully, a number that didn't make the transition---you know who you are) to have a nice competition. If there are fewer players, it just means the prizes will be even better!
Anyone is welcome to play, but I'll only keep track/post those "regular" players that play at leat 50% of the games.
As mentioned, the prizes this year should be awesome: we are arranging the final stages of an all expense paid trip to a beautiful pacific island for a week. I'll let you know as the details become available. Let me know what you would like at the end of the season awards banquet. The steak and lobster at last years seemed to go over well (tho I was a little disappointed there wasn't a bigger turn out.) Maybe this year will be better.
Per custom, we will only include the intra conference games to be tracked. You can add your picks up antil gametime to be official. (if you add them after tip off, there will need to be a sizable "donation" accompanying them to have them counted)
So without further ado:
I think there are only two games on the docket, as the Hiland/Malvern game and Strasburg/Ridgewood i think are postponed. (if that is not the case, let me know)

Sandy Valley @ Garaway

I hate these early picks because they are blind. I'm buying into the power of Josh Mason (not really) and the bigger, better Paul.

Hesston, Rosecrans has definitely joined the ECOL which is splitting into two divisions. One large and the other small. For Rosecrans I think it was more of a geographical fit than size.
The ECOL is looking to expand this new model further in the future, so look to see them tempting some IVC schools. Most likely Ridgewood.

Gordon Gee said that Ridgewood would join the ECOL when they take it out of his cold, dead hand.

The only sport that the ECOL would want Ridgewood for is football, and even at that they ware a middle of the road team at best it that conference. It will have to depend on how they want to make the division. If they go big school/small school and bring in more small schools then I could see them wanting a few other IVC schools that win at other sports, not just one. And I am talking guys and gals here, because you have to look at the entire picture. And I am not putti ganyone down it is just how it is. Just like I am not sure that Rosecrans was a good decision. I feel that they brought in a team that will not be able to compete with Dover and Philly on purpose. (mostly Dover) They would never bring in the real Zanesville, or a Tri Valley or something like that. Doesn't make sense to me.

Garaway over Sandy Valley 44-28. TCC over Newcomerstown 62-40.
Looks like most of us are 2-0 to start the first week.

Leroy, have you seen the prizes Ricola is offering this year? Going against Garaway in every pickem may hurt your chances.Lucky_leroy wrote: TCC

indeed. Tho if going against Garaway (and missing the week in Tahiti) keeps you true to your inner self, I can't condemn you for that!
And where's Tmaj? We need a voice of reason on this thread!

I propose that anyone who starts picking now, we will spot them the TCC win, since everybody had them picked. New players will be 1-1. Perhaps we can get more players.
