Having people over to watch the Super Bowl this year --- We redid our basement and made it a theater with a 92" screen about 6 months ago, so we are having some people over to watch the game down there....Probably 12 people or so total...
We'll be ordering some pizza, but I'm looking for some simple appetizer-type recipes for some other things to serve...
Gonna grab some hummus from a local bakery that has the bomb hummus..
Also gonna give this guacmole a try....http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Guacamole/Detail.aspx
What are you guys making for the game?? Post some recipes too (unless you're one of those weird people who keeps recipes a secret).

Brats and kraut. Cheese curds. Leine's and Point Special on ice. Couldn't ask for anything more!

Buffalo Chicken Dip
2 pounds of shredded chicken
2 pkgs of cream cheese
1 cup of Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing
2 cups of shredded Cheddar Cheese
6-12 oz. (depending on how hot you want to make it) of Franks regular Hot Sauce
-mix everything together in a bowl (use a hand mixer to make it smoother.)
-spread into a 9x13 baking dish
-add a bit of shredded cheese on top if you want
-Cook at 350 for 45 minutes.
I use the whole 12 oz bottle of Frank's.

I would assume other hot sauces would be good. Not sure how BBQ sauce would be. That would make it less of a "Buffalo" dip right? I've only tried it with the Frank's Red Hot. I also use shredded chicken from Root's Chicken in Fremont, which is available at The Andersons.

I use Frank's Red Hot every time I make that dip Karen. It is the best.
I've also changed up the meats, but I find shredded chicken is the best.

Buffalo dip is the best. We usually use the Fritos Scoops with it.

Here is something extremely simple, and people will love it(unless they have a peanut allergy).
Ingredients
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Toss the nuts in a large bowl to combine and spread them out on a baking sheet. Toast in the oven until light golden brown, about 10 minutes.
In a large bowl, combine the rosemary, cayenne, sugar, salt and melted butter.
Thoroughly toss the toasted nuts in the spiced butter and serve warm.
Ingredients
- 2 1/4 cups (18-ounces) assorted unsalted nuts, including peeled peanuts, cashews, Brazil nuts, hazelnuts, walnuts, pecans and whole unpeeled almonds
- 2 tablespoons coarsely chopped fresh rosemary leaves
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 2 teaspoons dark brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons Maldon or other sea salt
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

It's a little spendy to make but is very good.

I might add its better if you shred the chicken and marinate it overnight in a ziplock baggy with the Franks Hot Sauce. Everything else is just as I make this too.

The pizza dip is one of my favorites. I'm trying to think of the easiest ones I know. The popper dip is also way better than it sounds. Drunk people love it.
