How he is still only 33 years old is beyond me.
Somehow though last season in just 278 at bats he hit 19 HR and had 48 RBI...with 9 SB

lol hit 2 HR's in the World Series when he was 18 I think. He might have just turned 19. Either way he has been around forever. I always had suspicions of him being a roider, even when he was with the Braves.

He was 19 and about 6 months.

I'd agree with that sentiment. He always seemed to be a little lazy though and then his ass grew to be the size of Curacao.

Please tell me how .230 is a major problem if the guy has 19 HR and 48 RBI in less than 300 AB?
He is still quite productive versus lefties.
Why did you quote me? He has played forever....how the heck is he still just 33. His production is obviously way older than a 33 year old in many stats....I wasn't going there.

in other Yankee news, construction is complete on Jeter's Tampa mansion.
The $7.7 million house dwarfs surrounding homes on Bahama Circle in Davis Islands. Construction began on the 30,000-square-foot, seven-bedroom, nine-bath mansion early last year. Jeter bought up the adjacent lots on which the home sits for $7.7 million in 2005 and 2006.
The mansion is nearly the size of a Best Buy electronics store and currently is the biggest house, square-footage-wise, in the county.
Jeter is in town this week for his charity golf tournament, but it was unknown if he's staying at the new waterfront home or if he's staying in his quaint $1 million home in Avila.

Not sure why I quoted you except that it was the first post. Might be that my post was at 2am.
.230 is a problem if that is your best year in the last four and your supposed to be 29-33 years old.
I guess I question if he is only 33.

jones was signed as a 4th outfielder and basically because he still is one of the best defensive outfielders out there.

Andruw was always one of my favorite players, I loved his nonchalant effort on catching fly balls.lol....... and Jeters place could use some grass or something, dude you're not in NYC anymore

Watched alot of braves games...mostly becuase I was a maddux fan, and AJ never really panned out to be as great at they had hoped. His average was always below average...swinging for the fences....coulda been one of the all time greats in the game.
Seems to have an aloof demeanor. I dont always judge the book by its cover because I am that way too.....but by how his career went maybe he got too lazy with the money

For about 5-7 years he was the best CF I've ever seen at getting a great jump...and then getting to balls easily where he could have gotten an average jump and played it into a great dive......instead he caught the ball with his glove borderline the wrong way and at his waist...then would wing it in pretty much underhanded......always with a smile.

That is exactly how I remember him as and what I loved about him
