I am convinced my body doesn't let me function properly until 10 AM everyday.

I felt the kick on mentally today at 9:47 (nearly 10), yet I was at work at 7:20.

Try to go to bed at 10 pm most nights, and with enough rest I am rarely ready to go when I arrive at work.

Anyone else feel this way? What causes it? How do you get going earlier?

Coffee. Lots of coffee.

Seriously, I'm usually a zombie even with a cup o' joe at home in the AM. It takes that second cup at the office before I start to function.

I'm the same way. I'm just now coming into my full thought processes, even though I've been up and doing stuff since 5:30am, with 2 cups of coffee.
For instance, I've already got dinner prepped - had that done by 7:30. Not because I was alert and being a go-getter. I tend to think it's more habitual.

I don't know. I've never been a morning person. More of a "later in the day/night" person.

Have you thought about moving to California? Sounds like your body is running on West Coast time.

I lived there years ago, and now that you mention it, it DOES seem like that schedule has never left me!

I literally don't wake up until almost 10. My alarm goes off at 8:30am, and I keep hitting snooze until around 9:30/10:00. I need to break the habit...but I'm just going to blame it on winter and my need to hibernate.

Sherm, I used to keep my alarm clock across the room. That way I'd actually have to get out of bed and walk across the room to get it. The worst part in the mornings for me always was actually getting out of bed. Once I was out, I was fine. But getting out of a snuggly warm bed was DAYUM.

Now alarms are not needed, I wake wayyyy too early on my own.

I'm tired all day, but my sleep schedule is just effed...I generally go to bed no earlier than midnight, usually around 1am...I get up for work at 7am, tired all day, then I'm good to go all evening to about 1 am....

I just need to start scaling back the bedtime a bit...I'm gone for work from 7:45 - 5:30, home for dinner and time with my wife/baby from 5:30 - 8:00 (baby bedtime), hang out with wife until she falls asleep around 10:30, then I hang out by myself until 1:00am (mess around on computer, work around the house (flooring currently), play video games...I guess I just value my personal 'play time' more than the few hours of sleep I could be adding on...

Love the west coast time argument. Wouldn't move to California. I think Eugene or Mt.Hood Oregon or virtually anything PacNW are more my speed.

5 hour energy shots are my friend. Usually get about 5 1/2 to 6 hours of sleep.

I usually go to work at 9 or 10, but don't go to bed until 1 or 2...

I have my alarm across the room and have removed my snooze button. I usually reset the alarm at least once or twice before I can stay out of bed. (nothing seems more inviting in the morning than the warm spot I just crawled out of in my bed)

I know what you feel. That is, if you replaced 10 a.m. with 6 p.m.
