I just watched his interview on Fox this morning with Chris Wallace and, believe it or not, I was very impressed with him. I'll admit that I don't agree with all of his politics, but you have to respect his direct, straight-forward style. This is a man who didn't dodge anything and actually answered questions. Wallace was lobbing his usual softballs, but Christie gave honest answers to all. This is someone I want to keep an eye on in the future. He has some different ideas for New Jersey and it will be interesting to see how he does. He admits he isn't ready for the national stage yet, but I have to believe that, if he continues his success in New Jersey, his time will come. Any other opinions on him?

Governor Christie has been my choice for POTUS for several months. While I agree with his fiscal/budget policies, I find his leadership style and honesty the most genuine aspects of his character. I have not agreed with everything he says, such as his bashing of Palin, but he is a true leader that draws followers from both sides of the aisle...such as stlouie. His straight talk style and convincing demeanor certainly make me think he has presidential ability. He doesn't need a teleprompter in order to talk.
He continues to deny an interest in the 2012 presidential run, but he could be dragged into it. We have a year to convince him to change his mind.

Let's hope he does. While I think the Palin Derangement Syndrome issue is so over-the-top it's beyond bizarre, and while I also like Palin and her beliefs, I'm pragmatic enough to realize she's unelectable. 0% chance Christie runs in '12. 100% chance in 2016. I've got a mancrush on the dude as well, but he ain't running. Period.

His chances of running in 2016 would be severely hampered should Obama get beat. Christie has also stated that he is not interested in the VP role, due to who he is...and I completely understand. So, if he waits, and Obama loses, then it could be 2020 before he gets his chance and his governorship days would long be done by then and his popularity may suffer. I'm hoping he changes his mind about 2012, but should we suffer under an Obama re-election, he would be a lock for 2016 as you suggest. Kind of makes me want to vote for the socialist-in-chief.....hmmmmm.

Christie mentioned in the interview that, each year that a person serves as Governor (executive position) of a state, it makes them more qualified for the Presidency. He said that he is in no way ready for that role after only one year as Governor of New Jersey. Besides, he said that he had a job to finish there. All BS aside, I'm really impressed with this guy and his comittment to the people of that state. I can see him being the one the Republicans turn to in 2016. Hell, he might even get my vote.

I saw one video of him on youtube where some woman started laughing as he was answering her question and he gets pissed and completely goes off on her, then proceeds to demolish the statement she made (something about teachers). He seems pretty cool to me.

Thank you for the awakening StLouie. Check out past videos of him on youtube wherein he absolutely tells it like it is. He is indeed a modern day hero amidst all the political rancor and all the other typical pass-the-buck politicians. He tells it like it is, and he has from day one in office.

^^ Your personal favorite is mine too. I love how Christie basically tells her to STFU and to wipe that grin off her face before educating her on the facts and realities of the world.

I liked the video that was your personal favorite as well. Dude answered point by point in a calm, logical, and articulate manner. Can't ask for more than that.

I'm a fan so far. I like his attitude and the more I hear his domestic policy ideas, the more I like them.
He is one of the few R's, I'd support in 2012 if he runs.

I know where he's coming from, my wife's best friend is married to an FBI agent and is subject to the 2 year federal pay freeze. Obviously, that isn't the best situation, but not one worth going on facebook and complaining that they have to tell their children that daddy isn't getting a raise for 2 years - that post was brought down quickly by the 2 dozen responses that "well, our daddy took a 20% pay cut or lost his job completely. I really think the public sector is living in some fantasy world, where is this money supposed to come from?

It just goes to show that even the most common sensical person can become accustomed to the shinies and feel cheated when they're not readily falling into their hands. It's the conditioning that has happened not only in NJ, but Ohio, Ca., and everywhere in the US.
