Getting married in June and am responsible for the Honeymoon. I think I started a thread on this a while back, but figured another one was due.

Looking to go to an All Inclusive in the Caribbean. Would like to spend less than $4,000 with flight, but I know that is probably unlikely.

The thread about cruises had some good information on ports, but what are some recommended resorts and islands? I've looked at the Sandals resorts, but they have so many that I don't know how to decide between them.

Any help is appreciated!

We went to Iceland. Absolutely beautiful country. Getting there and lodging is very affordable but since there money now has the value of a monopoly bill, food, alcohol, gifts, etc. were all crazy expensive.

We spent our honeymoon in Lido key Beach Florida. Flew from Pitt to sarasota. Beautiful beach, quiet area, little St. armonds circle ( i think thats how it is spelled) located a block away with restuarants shops, and not far from Tampa or Sarasota for other things to do.

Not sure thats how it works...if things were crazy expensive then its because our money is like monopoly money.

Greenland is ice and Iceland is nice.

I learned that from the Mighty Duck movies.

the exchange rate was very favorable about 100:1. But their economy collapsed about 2 years ago now so inflation has gone rampant. You may get 100 kronur for a dollar but an average lunch of soup sandwich and a coke would run the wife and I about 5000 kronur (50bucks) average dinner with a single beer or glass or wine 150-200 USD

I booked at an All-Inclusive in Rivieria Maya for a week for around $2500 (included flight, taxes, etc. Everything for $2500). I used AAA.

We did that a few months ago. Where did you stay? We stayed at the Valentin Imperial Maya.

I did an all inclusive a few years ago to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. All in all it cost me around $3000 for Mrs. Little Danny and myself. We stayed at the Dreams hotel which had a beautiful private beach and a few pool bars. I'd strongly recommend it.

As did I, sort of. My UK family actually booked it and had an extra bed in one of the rooms, which I took.

We were at Dreams Riviera Maya in Cancun, it's only about a year old. The best 4 days of vacationing in my life (aside from the 4 days in Northamptonshire).

We stayed at the Sandals Dunn's River Falls in Jamaica for our honeymoon - very nice and great service
Cruise to Alaska - Nice but not my cup of tea
Grand Palladium in Riviera Maya - very nice, cheaper than Jamaica, service was good just not as good as Jamaica but for the price I think we are heading back in the summer of 2012.

Count me in as another who booked a trip to Riviera Maya. That's where my wife and I spent our honeymoon last year. We had such a good time, we're looking at taking another trip back there this year for our first anniversary.

We stayed at Secrets Capri and it was amazing. I think I spent $2,200 for flights, hotel, taxes, everything. We went to AAA too. And when we got some ideas from the agent, we did some research and were able to put things together ourselves and saved about $700.

I agree with this, unless your hearts are set on the Caribbean I would add this to your list of possibilities. Beautiful location, reasonable prices and one of the few places in Mexico you don't have to worry about cartel battles!

The wife and I did our honeymoon at a Sandal's too. Ocho Rios in Jamaica. It was good.

The plus to this one now...they just did an over $25 million renovation/upgrade to it. Sucks that they do it 2-3 months after we were there.

The best beach at a Sandal's is in Negril. Ocho Rios is supposed to have a lot better options with food and stuff. But the beach at Negril is like 5-7 miles long.

We went on a cruise to Ocho Rios, so we are hesitant to go there. Just because we want a place we haven't been to before.

The Sandals in Negril is impressive. Just made the list.

Also looking at Costa Rica.
