Pizza Boy is now saying Hoke was his first choice but he needed to meet with Jimmy and Leslie personally to tell them the news.

Liar Liar Pants On Fire.

Worst hire in CFB history. Gone in 4 more years.

Now he's saying the job was never offered to either of them and scUMers are buying this BS.

I heard Brand's plane was taxiing down the runway and Hoke was out on the tarmac with the big orange flashlights yelling, "I'll take it! I'll take it!"

No, that would be Charlie Weiss.

pittsburghs hire was heinous too.

i'm with tiernan though the ad is pissing on our legs and trying to tell us it's raining.

there's a reason he flew to dallas, then to baton rouge before heading to SoCal. it might end up being like a country song where the ones that broke your heart led you to true happiness, but for now you can't tell us this was the 1st choice because you wasted a lot of money testing the waters elsewhere.

Thank you TSUN for hiring another coach that JT will own.

I'm not saying Hoke won't be successful, but I wish Brandon wouldn't treat us like we are morons. Its clear Hoke wasn't the top choice, and that's not a bad thing. Just don't try and say otherwise. Go look at the Michigan offseason thread. Obviously they put out feelers on Harbaugh and he wasn't interested. They then focused their attention on Miles. They wouldn't have did all that they did just to let Miles know that they desperately wanted a guy who has had mixed success in other coaching stops

CBSSportsline reported today that Les Miles was offered 4.25 Million a year, he declined. Michigan came back with a second offer, he declined. Brandon is full of shit!!

It's neck and neck between Weis and Rich Rod at UM.

While I don't think Hoke was the 1st or 2nd choice, I think he will do better than Rich Rod. But I don't see Hoke getting Michigan to BCS games either. Only time will tell though.

Respectfully disagree with both. I think RRod would have won given time and change in some staff. But TIME is the key word. Weiss never seemed to be improving, and he was given plenty of time.

I think Hoke will be a great long-term hire. And now with Mattison on board, Hoke could be one of those out-of=nowhere hires that people look back on as they count the wins.

I agree with what you say about Hoke. He could end up being a great hire, especially with the staff he's building around him.

Rich Rod, we may disagree, but we'll never really know. I don't think Rod's defense would ever have allowed him to win the Big 10, but as I said, it's all in the past and we'll never know.

That being said, I hope (as a Buckeyes fan) that Hoke has as much success against Ohio State as RR did. :)

I don't think he would have gotten in done with the staff he had in place for sure.
