In the same time period: USC 7, Texas 5, Florida 5, Oklahoma 4, LSU 4, Auburn 2, Alabama 1

He's a very consistant coach. He's got a formula that keeps us near the top. A few more tweeks here and there, and we could have a couple more Top 1 finishes.

is it that you dont care or that you just dont know? OSU was OSU before tressel got there. Bowden took a program was 4-29 the 3 previous season prior to his arrival and built them into a national power.

I found it funny that someone would try to troll this topic without actually completely shitting on it. Kudos to you.

You want to discuss FSU, go ahead, I assume your new thread function is operational.

i thought the title was "top five finishes" that what i was discussing. i didnt know it only about OSU's top 5 's. but you tried to down play the accomplishments of fsu's 15 consectutive top 5 finishes by saying bowden only had 1 in his first ten years.

Top Five Finishes.

And if you read the first post, you can easily tell the meaning of the thread is to compare the programs with the most top 5 finishes in the last 10 years since Tressel has been at tOSU.

People only remember the #1 ranked team, not who finishes 2-5.

They might not specifically remember who finished 2-5... but if you're top 5 enough your program develops tradition, history, clout, prestige.... and that matters when recruiting... but it's not everything.

Some schools are horrible and finish unranked a handful of years, but yet......they still recruit well. (ND, FSU, Miami, Tenn)
