He also tweeted 5 hours ago that he was staying at Stanford. I'll take it with a grain of salt.

Five years, $25 mil? That seems way more in the ballpark than the $7 or $8 million a year that people were talking about.

miami offered him more, but was told it would take 8 for him to move from the west coast, i'm guessing.

I like the hire...but then again, I thought that Singletary would end up being one of the best coaches in the league...

Yeah, I thought Singletary would shape that team up and be around 10-6 or 11-5 this year. In 2009, that defense was nasty and this year they all took a step back.

Not a big surprise to me. Miami gave him a "Godfather" offer and he turned it down. Wonder if Miami doing Sparano dirty behind Sparano's back had anything to do with Harbaugh turning them down. That's a pretty low and to me suggests that the Dolphins brass lacks character. Maybe Harbaugh didn't want the same treatment a couple years down the road.
