Did you even taste it…..
I was having lunch today at one of my favorite places John’s Bar.
The group I was having lunch with was boring and I had no interest in the conversation.
However a table across from us I notice this guy eating… no that not eating that was inhaling. This guy ate his meal like he had never seen food before and forgot how to chew, hasn’t eaten in weeks, has a huge tape worm or was just refueling till tomorrow.
I enjoy good food, I enjoy eating my meal and savoring each bite. Lunch or dinner meals take me 30 to 45 minute plus to eat.
This guy downed his lunch in 5 minutes ….done, gone ..check please
What is your average time to eat a prepared meal?

I like to take my time as well......and also usually make sure I have some to take home to have another meal later on!
As for eating quick....yeah...had to do that for a few months recently.....3-7 minutes to eat each meal......sucked...but got used to it.

If I'm alone, I inhale as well. I don't have time to enjoy meals very often.
However, if I'm either among company or I'm working on something while eating, I'll usually not even finish because I take so long to eat.

I usually either take my time or eat like I'm starving.
Had a job interview the other day and afterwords I ate at Fuddruckers and was probably in and out of there in 15 minutes and that includes waiting for my meal and eating it.

I'm one of 8 kids. I eat like it's a race. I have tried to slow down now that I have no need to do so. But it's a hard habit to break.

I eat fairly fast. I've started to slow down though because I noticed I would eat twice as much when I'd eat fast because I'd still believe I was hungry when I was actually full. I gained a lot of weight that way and lost a lot by changing that habit alone.

Growing up in a home with 8 kids that is not always the case. The faster you eat the more you get.

I eat fairly quickly. I like to get my lunch eaten so that I can sit around and talk to rest of the guys at work.
At family gatherings, my Grandpa always complains that everyone might as well put their food in a blender in drink it, since he is always the last one done. It's just one of those funny things that Grandpas are always saying.

I usually eat pretty quick just so I can move on to do something else.
Eat real quick, so I can watch the game. I used to eat in the car a lot because I would go from student teaching to work latch key and wouldnt get home until 7 or so. I'd eat a poptart or something while driving or a burger on my way to work.
Growing up, it was eat quick so you could get to recess quicker. When I was in high school, we had open lunch, so you had to inhale your food in the car or something as to not be late to class.
It just always felt like I had to eat quick because there was something else to do. I've somewhat slowed down now that I have a consistent steady job and almost a daily routine, but I'm still quicker than a lot of other people. If I'm by myself, I eat pretty quick, like quick enough to not even put the food down (burger, taco, sub). If I'm with people, I've noticed I'm a lot slower because I am usually dominating the conversation.

Why are people so concerned with the speed at which other people eat? What makes others think that people don't enjoy their food when they eat quick?
I eat quick and I taste it and enjoy it. I only purposefully slow down to eat if I'm eating with company of some kind. I get no more enjoyment out of food if I eat it slow over eating fast.

^^^If you eat too slow, your food will get cold, warm, hard, or soggy depending on the food we're talking about.
Eating a slow breakfast is the worst. Soggy cereal and warm milk can GTFO.

I'm a "medium" eater. Not fast, not slow. However, when I go out to eat with some of my ex OSU football buddies I tend to hurry the meal. Both are ex OSU linemen and they eat extremely fast.

I am usually the first one done, so I have tried to slow down in some situations. I also have a problem with eating everything on my plate, even if I am pretty full.
