Fake.
J/K...the cups have a magnetic opening at the bottom that seals after you pull it off the dispenser. The extra cost of making those cups is made up by the advertising on the removable magnet, which can be used like a fridge magnet.

How don't they overflow? The magnet knows exactly when the beer is full?

I'm thinking the cups are specific sizes and the thing is built to dispense the same amount of beer every time.

Says on the website they are only commercially distributed as of right now, but will be selling them for household use in 2013. The price was not listed anywhere on the website so I can only imagine how much these things are.

Couldn't I accomplish the same thing with a much longer tap, one that will sit on the bottom of the cup as I fill it?

Then you have to take the tap out of the beer and I think most of the allure here is the inability for the drink server to spill or overflow the cup and the quickness.

If you noticed on the 2nd video, there is a button that allows you to set cup size. Kind of like some pop dispensers at Fast Food Joints. You press S,M,L and push the cup against the lever and let it go.
