Also good vibes come from OT Nick Davidson. I fully expect him to be a buckeye. Now if Kyle Dodson would only come to columbus...

That's true. I read a quote where he "dreams" of becoming the first grandfather-father-son captain string at OSU. Looking very positive.

Mike Adams named Rivals top returning OT: http://collegefootball.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1253403
1. MIKE ADAMS, OHIO STATE
THE PARTICULARS: 6-8/320, Sr.; Dublin (Ohio) Coffman
THE BUZZ: Adams will miss the first five games of the season because of an NCAA suspension. He started for the second year in a row in 2010, earning first-team All-Big Ten plaudits. Adams is an excellent run blocker who rarely gets knocked off his feet and can push the pile. He's also nimble and athletic, making him a strong pass blocker.

^ What a turn around for him. Two years ago he was borderline bust given his troubles off the field. Glad to see he is getting credit for his hard work. However JJ Watt and Ryan Kearagin made him look silly as recently as last season, so I think that may be a little high. I'll take it though.

Yes, though I thought Rolle still played well regardless. We've just been spoiled recently with amazing LB play (Hawk, Carpenter, Animal, etc..).

Rolle played very well, there's a reason he's getting decent minutes right now in the preseason for one of the NFC's best teams. Ohio State has a lot of talented linebackers on the roster right now, they just aren't experienced starters. History has shown that the Bucks have been able to reload at the position. Not to mention with Vrabel now on the staff, OSU shouldn't have too much of a problem recruiting linebackers who are serious about playing in the NFL someday.

If the QB race is even close, Miller should be the guy. Don't even waste the time with Bauserman.

are you sure you're not a closet Buckeye-lol? I agree 110%, and IMO Fickell will be of the same mindset--if he wants TO WIN

One thing that I will enjoy this season is NOT worrying about OSU's "style points." No one is expecting OSU to do that well, so I won't worry as much about ugly wins, but rather enjoy watching this team grow over the course of the season. Granted, there are always some levels of high expectations in Columbus, but this team may surprise some people. Do I expect a national title? Of course not. But look at this roster -- I don't see a mediocre team at all. I think we are #18 in the AP, and I have seen us unranked in some magazines. Give me a break.

Jersey scrimmage was today.

Offense looked okay...scored 3 TDs according to the O-Zone staff. Miller threw a pair of TD passes, but none of the QBs looked consistently great.

Lots of people were on the sidelines for this one because of injuries, though, so who knows how much they can really tell at this point.

Bauserman may get some playing time early in the year, but I look for Miller to take the job and make it his eventually. He has the element of escapeability that is lacking in all the other QB candidates. That may prove vital unless the OL is more settled than I thin it is.

The season kicks off in two weeks...and I'm more than ready for it to begin. I'm tired of talking about all the crap that surrounds NCAA football and want to talk football and games.

Eleven Warriors tweeted that based on what has been seen in practice so far this fall and what was seen at the jersey scrimmage that it's looking like both Bauserman and Miller will play but that Bauserman is going to be the starter.

Doug Lesmerises of the Plain Dealer said basically the same thing, but explained why. He said that Bauserman has better command of the offense and is more consistent, but that Miller has raw talent, just needs a little more time to learn. Basically, Bauserman allows the offense to do more right now, but Miller will be the guy eventually. Said Bauserman should start against Akron but expect to see Miller play a good deal as well.

So have a 2 QB rotation plan like they did with Zwick and Troy for the first few games? The first couple games on the schedule would be good time for Miller to gain game experience and get those 2 games in before going to MIA.

Sabino broke his hand but should be able to play with a light cast.

http://www.buckeyextra.com/content/stories/2011/08/22/dont-expect-humble-miller-to-be-like-pryor.html
Both were rated by Rivals.com as the No. 1 dual-threat QBs in the country (although Pryor was also the No. 1 overall prospect and Miller was “only” No. 34) and both were in the position to win the starting job as a freshman. But Pryor handled his first media day like a guy who was preparing for his third Super Bowl, and later admitted that he may have been “a little arrogant.” Miller was, uh, how could you describe it exactly?

“He presents himself in such a manner that his demeanor is kind of humble,” OSU offensive coordinator Jim Bollman said.
