Probably not the best in the division but certainly not as bad as the McCoy apologists make them out to be.

This is a pretty simplistic offense that RG3 is in but something tells me with his intellect & work ethic, combined with the physical tools, he should be able to adapt.
lol thats what it is looking like. going to be high scoring. i agree though, hopefully he comes out

I was a RG3 hater, but I'm slowly coming around. Not because of this bowl game though, because of scouts that know football better than I saying he's legit.

Oh, I know that the early projections were that Baylor would likely put up 50 on them but still fun to watch.

Definitely fun to watch and project ha. I was a RG3 hater, self proclaimed and even I am warming to him watching my 4th baylor game this year. He's definitely better than last season where I thought he was undraftable. But ppl saying they're now convinced based on one drive is ridiculous.

This was why I've been coming around to him...not the Bowl game. Was expecting an Arena League score like I mentioned.

Everything I've heard about him from the "he's a student of the game" to his work ethic to the fact I believe he comes from a military family leads me to believe he'll have the drive/ambition to succeed. I don't see a JaFatAss Russell-type here.

The big question, if selected by the Browns is, would Shurmur be able to utilize him to his full potential? Patty Boy would have to be a little more flexible and use the gun a bit more to get the best bang for the buck. Teach him the 3-5-7 of the WCO but also let the kid spread his wings ala Newton.

My big question with him his is lack of using lower body in throws (leads to INTs in the pros) and his size. Looking at his frame now, he'll be on the injury list every week if he doesnt add bulk.

RGIII and this offense would be oil and water.

I really like him, but Shurmur will have his hands chained to Mack's ass under center and I am not sure how well he will make that transition from being predominantly in the gun.

McCoy is more comfortable in the gun. but Shurmur was always gung hoe against it because it is not consistent with his system.

Why do we think that he will suddenly have a huge change of heart when he was willing to throw a hole season away already this year with McCoy having that same fight rather than adjust to what he was more comfortable with?

This isn't Denver where the coaches adapt their system to the strengths of the players. This is Cleveland where we force feed the system even if it doesn't suit the strengths of our players.

I think anyone who thinks it would just be magically different with RGIII is being awfully naive.

This has been a knock on him. Everything I've read leads me to believe this can be corrected.

He'll definitely need to pack on a few pounds.

Thats my biggest harp on him as well. He is a very accurate passer, but seems to throw off of his front foot a lot. The question is that if its too much of a habit to break. His thinner frame isnt going to last long against the defenses of Pittsburgh and Baltimore.

Besides those 2 issues, I like every thing about him. Good character, already has a degree, honor roll every semester he has been at Baylor. I like everything about the person he is.

I'll be the first to admit that I've been pretty brutal on Colt McCoy but at least I talk about other Browns related stuff. That shits like a broken record. I almost hate getting on here because I know there's going to be a Shurmur rant.

If the Browns were to take him, I'd hope Uncle Mike would make him his "pet project" and correct that. I have no doubts the strength coach could pack some meat on his frame.

Ignore if you must, but I have been prophetic for 16 weeks now about how dismal and in over his head the guy is.

Since he isn't going anywhere though, if we are going to get a QB it needs to be someone that is built to and comfortable with running his system.

Putting your head in the sand and pretending that this isn't an issue is foolish.

My Shurmur hatred unfortunately clouds my whole view on things because Quarterback is the most important position in team sports, and I have seen nothing that gives me hope we can ever be anything more than a .500 team with him at the helm.

I hope to God I am eating crow at some point as I am a lifelong Browns fan and I want to see them win (or at least be watchable) more than anyone.

Hey. look...I'm no Shurmur "fan" but he's the cards we've been dealt. I just hope he grows into the position and learns from his mistakes.

Lol, as soon as I saw it was an iggy post, I scrolled down to the next post. We get it man, you are a fed up Cleveland fan, nothing good is ever going to happen blah blah.

It's not that I don't agree with him about Shurmur being an idiot, but QQing about it is not going to change anything.

I think RG just has "long muscles" if that makes sense. ESPN lists him as 6'2 220. So while he may look slender, based on his numbers it's definitely a "deceiving" slender, which coincides with his Track & Field history.

The shear fact that he is graduating with his Master's and is currently taking Law School classes leaves me confident he will succeed in the NFL.
