Jay Glazer was on with Carucci today and was ripping Mangini. Said he didn't treat players like men, demeaned them, etc. The more I here about Mangini the more I am glad he is gone. He went on to say that Shurmur treats players like men, but has already earned there respect. Take it for what it's worth.

The stuff that is surfacing about Mangini make him sound like a complete dick-tator. The story about McCoy being the equivalent of a "beaten dog" is just ridiculous. This isn't some high school coach trying to toughen up a few kids...these guys are professionals.

I wouldnt mind seeing Hardesty get some carries tomorrow night...doesnt have to play a whole half, but just to get him back to game speed and some reps against possibly one of the better defenses. I want to see Hillis get some carries too, he had a TD in the opener but didnt have many yards. Hope that Marecic can clear the road for him when he's in to block. Also a good test for McCoy and the wr's to go against a very good secondary. Would like to see a matchup of Haden-Jackson and see how that goes...a lot of good tests for the Browns tomorrow night.

Marecic has looked pretty bad to mediocre IMO thus far. Game looks too fast for him, hope he shows some improvement over the rookie jitters in this game.

Thats true about Marecic...has looked a little scared, he got blew up on the first pass to him in the 2nd game! Hoping he didnt get hurt, that may have woke him up a little bc the next pass to him like that he ran the guy over.

As far as Marecic goes, I'm not overly concerned after rethinking it. If I recall, in 2006 there were some people freaking out that the Browns were replacing Terrelle Smith with a rookie named Lawrence Vickers. Vickers didn't exactly set the world on fire, early on, by my recollection. It wasn't until the last 2 years that he truly established himself as a dominant blocker.

Good Lord. Marecic has played in exactly two exhibition games and people are already judging him. How ridiculous. And how quickly these same folks forget just how poorly Vickers played the past several years when it came to running or catching the ball.

He wasn't a good fit for the WCO. And since the Browns are not going to be jamming the ball down people's throats by running Hillis behind a fullback like they did under Mangini, why keep a player who can't do two thirds of what is going to be asked of him?
