Stranger things have happened but I think they are happy with where they are at WR.

I'm not so sure. I've said this a few times before...everyone has a hard on for the "deep threat' receiver but who the Hell is going to get them the ball deep? McCoy can't throw the ball much farther than 30 yards (accurately).

They need WR's that can run short (8-15 yards), precise routes and be good at YAC.

I'm far from sold on MoMass or Robo but Mangini/Daboll were misusing them horribly. Mangini's passing "attack" was vertical and MoMass & Robo couldn't outrun my 75 year old mom on a "go" route. They are much better suited for shorter patterns/WCO.

They might bring in someone like a Danny Amendola (fits the system, thrived under Shurmur) but with Robo, MoMass, Little, Carlton Mitchell (the Browns "deep" threat), Cribbs, Ben Watson, Evan Moore, Jordan Cameron, Hillis, Hardesty (potentially) & Marecic I believe they feel they have more than enough targets who can get open for those short "pops."

They may use most of that money to re-sign their own free agents (cough, THOMAS, cough..even though he's not a FA) to longer term deals.

I found this hilarious. There is a post on Pro Football Talk about how the Broncos knew right away that taking Knowshon Moreno was a bad pick. So I scrolled down figuring I'd see some pretty pissed off Broncos fan comments about how they traded Peyton Hillis. And along comes this gem from someone named jhorton83.

"Yet another in a long line of McDaniels mistakes. Perhaps it would have been wiser to keep Peyton Hillis instead of trading him for a ham sandwich, aka Brady Quinn."

McDaniels was tired of Hillis showing McDaniels wife what a "real man" is...;)

This was my favorite comment:

Get real. Moreno led all rookie runners in 2009, and finished second in Offensive ROTY voting to Percy Harvin. He had over 1200 total yards. Last season, NO ONE could run behind the Bronco line, and lots tried. Moreno was easily the best of them and when he finally got healthy at the end of the season was averaging 80 yards per game or so. A lot more than Over The Hillis was picking up at the tail end of the year.

I guess every team has deluded fans.

To James Harrison...it's complicated. Not that there's anything wrong with that....

Shurmur doesn't have anything to worry about then because Hillis doesn't want any part of James. ;-)

Certainly not yet. I imagine Hardesty will lighten Hillis' workload this season and consequently prolong #40's career. At least he better or else they're going to run that kid into the ground after a few years.

I think the Browns will grab a veteran RB as insurance or grab one of the UDFA's as a potential change of pace back.

Speaking of which, did you see his training program? He pulls vehicles through a field in his home town or some shit like that. Believe he's going to pull a semi truck sometime in the near future.

Evidently you guys missed the wink at the end of that post. It's all in good fun. No sense in taking everything so seriously....especially on a Friday.

I think the Browns may have another one (crazy white running backs) in Marecic. Anyone who plays fullback AND linebacker can't be all that "right" upstairs.

LOL

Royal-Cool. Wasn't sure who took it seriously.

BR-Anybody you think will be on the Browns' radar regarding an additional RB?

He scored 2 TD's against my Irish last year....in 13 seconds....on each side of the ball. Fuck that guy. ;-)

I'll be honest, I want my fullbacks to be a little fucked up in the head.

I'd like to see them go after Sproles but I don't think that's happening. I could see them grabbing a UDFA like Noel Devine though as a speed back. Someone smaller & shiftier who can catch passes because I have a feeling they will be throwing A LOT.
