Had about 14 players on the field and let about 10 seconds run off the clock at the end of the Music City bowl

Butch didn't have the FG team on the field, those fools started running out there on their own. The coaches were yelling at them to get back.. Almost cost them that game too.

I almost feel bad for Tennessee...key word, almost. Two games in the same year to end under similar circumstances, there has to be some sort of Lane Kiffin curse or something.

Should be a run off rule in college football similar to the NFL. Shouldnt be allowed to spike it with 203598 players on the field withotu some sort of a 10 second runoff penalty or w/e

There should be a runoff rule for sure.

I felt bad for Tennessee for about 20 minutes until their d-bag QB made that gesture towards the UNC sideline after the TD pass in the first OT. Then, he throws a pick to start the 2nd OT. Loser.

I couldn't stand Butch Davis at the U, the Browns, or at NC...but if he was going to win, I guess beating an SEC team is the way to go.

If Tennessee doesn't miss the extra point then all of this is a moot point. There should not be a 10 second run off rule in college. There are alot of if's and should of's at the end of this game. The refs missed a second personal foul penalty when the North Carolina player was nailed after the tackle, don't rough the kicker and set up a 15 yard penalty to start overtime, don't facemask the runner to give NC the first down in over time (I think the runner was short of the first down), after the overtime touchdown and one hell of a catch Bray should have been hit with a personal foul for the double handed throat slash, don't allow a team to get into field goal range with 30 some seconds left on the clock and the ball on their own 20.

Bottom line - Tennessee gave this game away with personal fouls and a total loss of composure.

When there were 14 players on the field, what was the penalty? Shouldn't it have been a 15 yd penalty? What makes the difference on whether it is 5 or 15 yds?

Why shouldn't their be a run off rule? Their were dudes all over the field on that play.

Makes a difference if they actually participate and influence the play. In this case there was no play and they did not influence, so we have illegal substitution, which is a 5 yard penalty.

I just think that the rules should not change in the last 2 minutes of a half or the game. If the rule states that during the entire game an illegal substitution results in a five yard penalty and a 10 second runoff then okay. Why penalize a team AND ruin a good ending for a rules infraction? The penalty is all that is needed, don't ruin the game. Do they add 30 seconds to the game if the defense commits a personal foul, 10 seconds for an offsides? NO they don't and they should not.

Why not add a rule that if a team commits more than 3 personal fouls on defense in less than 10 plays then the defense plays a series with only ten men on the field? This is also a stupid rule just like the runoff rule, that's why.

UT got hosed for the second time this year, and here is why.

The offensive team is not allowed to make a huge rush of substitutions without the defense also being allowed to substitute. This is enforced by the umpire, who, upon seeing offensive players coming out, is required to stand over the ball until such time as the defensive substitutions are made. In the LSU game, this was never done, causing the debacle that occurred.

And last night, you can see the umpire step over the ball for a split-second, then quickly back off, leaving 18 UNC players on the field and allowing a ball to be snapped that never should have been in play at that point (with the clock running).

Any official who wouldn't have called the personal foul loses all credibility on all of his other points. On field officials 1,
Monday morning quarterback official 0.

No, UNC was almost hosed because the refs didn't throw a flag on a BLATANT late hit during that same series, which is called, UNC isn't even in the position they are in to have those guys running all over the field.
