I don't use coupons very often , but after watching TLC last night I might start taking coupons seriously. TLC profiled three grocery shoppers who have taken the use of coupons to the next level. They all had stockpiles of food, paper items, and toiletries. One lady had enough TP to last 40 years and it was all free. Another lady had not paid for toothpaste or deodorant for 35 years. The last guy bought $4000.00 worth of Total cereal for 7.00 or 8.00 dollars.
Truly amazing.

How in the world are they stacking these coupons to make stuff virtually free?

my wife is really into it, not to the point that these folks are, but pretty serious. we can walk out of the grocery store typically having only paid 60% of our items' price.

I watched that last night as well. Unbelievable. I might look into it a little bit more but not to the extreme those people do.

I do not but I was behind a girl at Giant Eagle a few months ago that did it. She had 2 carts full of stuff and when the lady told her her total was $1.89 I thought she meant $189.00. I was thinking wow I thought it would be less with all those coupons. Then she gave tha cashier $2 and I was like holy shit. Her boyfriend was behind me in line and he was doing the same thing.

it's not that eazy
We have a friend that mom does this and it is a full time process.. plus she has to drive around to differnt stores to get the better buys...
She will spend six hours on a Saturday morning shopping .....
My friend estimates that her mom spends almost 2 hours a day organizing the coupons and shopping before Saturday morning

Being a college kid, I should probably do it.
But, the local paper up there doesn't really have ad inserts that make it attractive to search for deals.
So you just kind of go to Aldi's and hope you don't get screwed over and that everything tastes ok

I coupon. I don't go to extremes but I do use coupons on brands that I buy and I do save quite a bit of money.

I don't use coupons, unless they are really good....I'll use coupons at Costco, just because they make it very convenient.
I have used slickdeals for years....
I save money on other things, like having basic cable and streaming a lot of tv/video, or having a non-data cell phone which saves $750 a year between my wife and I, and not having a land line.....Coupons are a hassle and I don't have time to track them to save 60 cents on a box of twinkies.
I definitely wouldn't have the time/organization to keep up with it like you guys are talking about above.

My parents just bought one of those coupon books for me for Christmas (sounds crappy I know). Just started using it and its got a lot of BOGO's. Still being fairly new to where I'm living it is helping me check out new places that I may not have otherwise gone or known about. Plus its not just dining but activities, amusement parks, golf discounts, etc...
