Mother Earth has blessed this event with a special eclipse by Luna.
Some will celebrate by lighting candles.
Others will sacrifice a coniferous tree to the Son of all in commemoration of his birthday.
Still others (such as myself) will enjoy the extra precious seconds of darkness for shenanigans and debauchery.
Celebrate as you may, for the days grow longer and the winds blow colder. I suggest 100 proof bourbon and a beer chaser of your choosing.

NOW you make the suggestion...
We just sacrificed a goat in the fire pit out back. Everything went smoothly until the Animal Control guy showed up - looking back, I suppose offering him a bowl of goat stew was a mistake.

Yes, a vestal virgin would have been more appropriate. However, being an animal control guy ( if he's the kind that writes tickets for saving deer) maybe a sheep would have saved the day....

I've been dealing with record snowfall for 2 or 3 weeks prior this in December in Northwestern Pa... don't tell me its not officially winter
