Do you have an Ohio Turnpike EZ pass? Was this a good move to get one? Any draw backs?

Works great. Makes going through the tolls very easy. Except for the idiots that still go through them without the pass. Since there are cars behind them they know that they will have to be left through.
You may want to investigate other states that use the same system. I think some of them do not charge a monthly fee.

Buy it from another state if possible. But it is a great deal as the tolls are cheaper with the pass then without.

It is invaluable...it isn't just Ohio, the EZ pass system works all along the east coast on toll roads.

I went to school in Chicago so I got their I-Pass (which works in Indiana and Ohio as well as many other places). It cost me $50; $10 of that was a deposit I get back when I return the transponder and $40 went on the transponder like a debit system to pay for tolls. I then set it up with my account to automatically add more money when the balance got low. In Chicago they doubled all of the tolls for people with cash a few years ago but kept them the same for I-Pass users. It probably made my commute through Chicago 30+ minutes faster, and it worked great whenever I was on the turnpike in Indiana and Ohio as well.

Why buy from another state?
I just purchased from Ohio, and it only cost $3. They take $25 to start your account, and $3 of it goes to the transponder. The rest goes to your toll usage.

I believe some of the other states don't have a monthly fee... not too sure though.
