I don't spend anything on my pets for christmas. They don't understand holidays at all. I do get them treats from time to time, but never because it's a holiday. When I was little my mom and dad would have stocking for all of our pets, and we had a lot of pets.

I did get my two labs new collars but they both needed one.

We just get them a few new toys. Maybe $20 between the two of them.

Nothing really. My Mom will get treats and things for my dog and my sister's dog. My mutt doesn't really play with toys.

I've spent a lot of money in the last year to make my dog a very unhappy dog! With the birth of my second daughter, we had a dog house (Taj Mahal) built inside our garage, two 125 watt bulbs running in some recessed light to heat the thing (EXPENSIVE) and some other different touches here and there. I spent all that money on him, and he hates us for it. (Since he has to spend more time outside).

He needs no gifts.

I got my dog some new toys and candy cane and Christmas cookie shaped treats. I think it was $15ish total. He will probably share with some of our other dogs...and my brothers dog that we used to live with.

My westie opens his own presents in the funniest way so we always get him something.

Is it a lab? My parents did something similar and the dog absolutely hates it. The only thing I can think of is that the unnatural light bothers their vision. You are correct with the expense - that stuff can add up.

Pug/Beagle mix. The Taj Mahal dog house (in our garage) also has a doggie door that leads to a state-of-the-art exit ramp, leading into our big back (fenced in) yard. He's spoiled. If he didn't have what he has now, he'd spend his days cooped up in a cage. I think he just deals with separation anxiety.

I am in the country and have no pets. There have been 2 stray cats living under the toolshed now for a few months. Of course I felt sorry for them and bought them food as the weather got colder. They wont ever come inside the house, but by feeding them I know they wont be leaving. I couldnt stand by and see them die during the Winter.

Less than $25 on all 3. They usually each get a doggy cupcake and a sweatshirt. They don't get Christmas, but it's fun for us to see them get excited over it, and Christmas provides us with an excuse to buy those things for them.

I love my dog, but I spend enough on him through out the year.

I let my parents spend the money around Xmas.

My dog is very excited for Christmas. I probably spent too much, but he's getting a new football (the squeaker went out on his), a Mr. Bill doll that says "oh, noooooo" and lots of treats. I also had to buy for my daughter's dog, and he pretty much got the same amount as Cletus.

If one of my kids would give me a grandchild, I could quit pretending that my dog is actually my baby. :)

Haha my Mom was the same way. My dog was her granddog and she made him sweatshirts and toys and bought him treats. Now she has a granddaughter and she gets all the love. Poor Tanner :( That's why I got him some stuff....but then my little sister's cunty dog went in my room yesterday and ate all the candy cane and cookie shaped treats and tried to get into the package of toys.

toys only, and usually the rough and tumble kind. for some reason my 10 pound dog annihilates every toy he comes into contact with.
