Ohio wins 44-42 on a last-second field goal.

Rooting for OU and I'm pretty sure I picked them in my bowl bracket, but I'm not very confident in that pick. They never seem to be able to put it all together in the bowl game

Troy should win.

I picked OU for some reason in my bowl picks, but I don't see it happening.

Knew I should have switched my pick. 31-7 Troy not even halftime. Troy on pace for about 700 yards of offense.

wow... i'm wondering how Troy lost 5 games and how OU won 8.... Troy is wicked fast on the offensive side of the ball

Umm...

IF I was the coach, the defense would be walking home. I'm not saying the offense is any better, but giving up 7+ yards per play is downright embarrassing.

Troy, like their SEC neighbors, likes to oversign classes dramatically -- and then simply not renew scholarships of those who may not be as good as the new recruits coming in. It's a pretty despicable practice, even though all scholarships are only guaranteed for one year; kids take it on faith when they sign that they'll be there 4 years if they stay clean and try hard.

Not the case.

Their last five classes had: 25, 32, 33, 40(!) and 34.

That's more than 60 players OVER what OU has recruited the past five years. How much better do you think OU or any school could be if they routinely over signed and then simply didn't renew scholarships of kids they decided they didn't want, anymore.

It helped Alabama come back from almost getting the death penalty in football to winning a national title in just a few years. They are one of the worst offenders of over signing in the SEC, along with LSU. Most of the SEC does it, though, while most other conferences simply don't allow it (yes the NCAA has not addressed this issue...so long as schools make it to 85 by the time fall practice starts).

Just wanted you all to have some perspective on how Troy can be so much better than OU when they are both from non BCS conferences.

Troy barely beat BG at home, they are an average mid major. They just showed up and OU didn't.

If you don't think signing more and better players helps, I don't know what to tell you.

And Troy may have not had a great year, but losing by 1 to Alabama and only 3 to Oklahoma State is not an "average" mid major.

Just flipped over to check on the game. OU isn't competitive on the field but it looks as if they have some talented co-eds in the stands.

You left out a key word there..."Birmingham." As in Troy lost by 1 to Alabama-Birmingham, not Saban's boys.

Troy is so much faster than OU and it's not even funny. OU looks like a high school team out there.

That cutback TD by Jernnigan at the beginning of the game showed me everything I needed to know

Troy isn't good. They won 3 games in the Sun Belt by under 7 points and lost a pair of conference games by 14+. The Sun Belt is probably the worst conference in football (although I guess them and the MAC will get to settle that on the field... exciting times!). They also may have only lost to OK State by 3, but they lost to South Carolina by 45 and, as was already mentioned, only beat 2-10 Bowling Green by 3.

Agree that OU just didn't show up tonight. Troy is definitely the better team, but they aren't 31 points in 1 half better.

In fairness, Jernigan is 10x better than anyone else on the field for either team. He's probably going to be a top 3 round pick in the NFL draft.

It's not just Jerrnigan though. Nearly every skill guy they have is shifty, athletic, and fast. I don't think OU matched up very well with them
