download a trial version of winzip. Extract the .rar file to here and then you should see the avi file after it unzips.

download winrar, a program that will open the .rar files and let you extract whatever you are trying to "play"

Thanks. What I'm trying to "play" is an episode of HBO's 24/7 series with the Penguins and Capitals.

also, since I am a cheapass.....whenever I need to use winzip, I change the date on my computer, so it fools the program into thinking that my trial version is still valid. Works like a charm...

Got ya, I wasn't sure. Should be pretty easy to figure out with either of those two programs, just unzip or extract to your desktop and you should be good to go.

For the love of god people. Don't use winrar or winzip. 7zip is where it's at, better performing, and completely free.
