Is it just me, or are weather advisories being tossed out more and more? I don't know about the rest of Ohio, but I know southern Dayton between Cincinnati is under one for a projected 2-3 inches of snow tonight. Since when did a couple of inches of snow require an advisory? In the past, would advisories be issued for such little amounts of snow?

I think all weather alerts are overboard anymore. They are supposed to meet certain criteria to be given a particular watch/warning/advisory, but it seems that often times the criteria are not met.

I think the media has turned winter weather events into major news events for ratings help. They really sensationalized the last supposed snow storm up here in the North, only to find out that it was just a normal Northeast Ohio weather event. Its comical watching the different Cleveland News stations trying to out-do each other.

Southwest Ohio tends to need a winter weather advisory for just snow flurries. 3.5 inches of snow flat out shut the f'ing city down today. I'm about to go and drive in it. Say a prayer for me. Some dumbass will probably be driving 45 in a 35 on a completely snow covered road and rearrange my bumper.

I agree. We live in fucking Ohio people. I could understand a winter weather advisory for 2-3 inches, hell even up to 5 or 6 if we lived in the South. People around here act like it has never snowed before, it's pathetic.

In Northwestern PA you're on a weather advisory from November 1st to April 1st. Its just a way of life. People don't complain about it, you drive careful take extra time and move on
