Sounds either like a tavern or an overpriced business convention name.

I'm not sure, but a legend sounds better than a leader. Leaders might get offended.

I can see where the conference is coming from though. For instance, some team will finish last in the Legends division. The coach can say, hey, at least we are still legends.
