Sorry Arizona, you have been pretty much eliminated from getting the first pick. Blame Jay Feely. Detroit will mess up somehow and win a game or two(including Favre's last game ever....)

This is excluding tie-breakers that would be taken into effect.

1 Carolina 1 12 (AZ, @Pitt, @Atl)
2 Cincinnati 2 11 (CLE,SD, @Bal)
3 Detroit 3 10 (@TB, @Mia, MIN)
4 Buffalo 3 10 (@Mia, NE, @NYJ)
5 Denver 3 10 (@Oak, HOU, SD)
6 Arizona 4 9 (@CAR, DAL, @SF)
7 Dallas 4 9 (WAS, @ARZ, @PHI)
8 San Francisco 5 8
9 Tennessee 5 8
10 Washington 5 8
11 Houston 5 7
12 Minnesota 5 7
13 Cleveland 5 8
14 New England from Oakland 6 7
15 Seattle 6 7
16 San Diego 7 6
17 Indianapolis 7 6
18 Miami 7 6
19 Tampa Bay 8 5
20 Green Bay 8 5

Pretty crazy that the 49ers are sitting at the 8th pick this week but could be tied for a playoff spot next week.

Andrew Luck will be a Panther baring a lock out next year.

Didn't carolina pick clausen and pike last draft? Taking another qb would be dumb.

No, passing up on a franchise QB because you have Clausen and Pike would be dumb.

Luck > Moore, Claussen, Pike. They will trade one of them for a draft round pick.

Luck is the first QB I've really liked in the draft and thought would be awesome since Phillip Rivers. I think he's legit.

I could see Arizona or San Fran taking Newton at those spots.
Maybe Mallett to Minnesota at #12.

I'm really interested to see where Mallett and Newton go. I seem to be in the minority, but I think Mallett will be an absolute stud in the NFL. As for Newton, his individual workouts will be telling to a lot of teams. It will be in those private workouts where teams will determine if they think he does in fact have the arm strength and can make all the throws.

Also will be interesting to see where Locker goes. Dude was a top 5 pick last year (still don't understand how) and now I don't know how far he drops. I think he really has to prove something against Nebraska in the Bowl Game.

Locker really has hurt himself and cost himself a lot of dough by staying in college. I know some scouts had him pegged as the number 1 overall pick. Screwed himself much like Leinhart did.

I think Locker will be fine. He has all of the measurable qualities and by all accounts is a great Locker-room (So punny) guy and leader. I think his stock will skyrocket to within a few picks of where he was before the season, possibly between Luck and Mallet.

Does he have the accuracy?

I don't think his accuracy is all that bad. He has the the arm, smarts, leadership ability, and other intangibles that NFL teams want in an NFL QB. He had an awful year, and will likely not be in the top five because of it. When he does well at the combine, aces interviews, and does well on the wonderlic, he is once again contending with Ryan Mallet for a spot in the top ten to fifteen range.

If he is all that, how can you explain his poor play this year?

An incredibly bad team certainly helped that along. But what part of my post can you disagree with? He certainly has an arm by all accounts and I have heard about his leadership and intangibles for two plus years now. The combine will allow him to showcase his arm and I simply cannot see him doing poorly in interviews and on the Wonderlic. We are not discussing how good we think Locker is, but only how I believe he will shoot to the top of the board after the process is underway.

He might have all the tools. However I would disagree with the intangibles. The main intangible I would look at is being able to elevate the play of others around you. He didn't do that.

And there are plenty of guys who have the tools that can't put it all together and therefore are unsuccessful. First guy that comes to mind is Derek Anderson, but there are plenty of guys that fit.

No way does Arizona take Newton over Mallett. Mallett is a perfect fit for the Arizona system.

Also, I've never been one bit impressed w/ Locker. I guess I just don't see what others see in him.

John Elway had a losing record in college, just saying. He didn't "elevate" those around him, nor did Jay Cutler. Sometimes blanket statements don't apply. On the opposite side you could look at Ken Dorsey, only lost 2 games in college including a National Championship. He couldn't elevate those around him in the NFL though.

Kurt Warner says otherwise.

No Kurt Warner is the opposite of Mallet. Smart, accurate, takes care of the football, doesn't have a rocket arm etc....Mallet is basically DA.

I see what you're saying, still doesn't change the fact that Mallett is well suited for the Cardinals style of play.

Agree that there are always exceptions to every rule, but it's difficult for me to assume Locker fits that.

Cutler is a good example, however.

As for Dorsey, he doesn't have "all the tools" that we are discussing.

Ryan Mallett is wayyy more comparable to Derek Anderson (strong arm, accuracy issues (much improved this year but still prone to make bad throws when pressured), maturity issues, lack of mobility) than Locker is.

And Washington is a 3 win team at best without Locker. With him they're going to a bowl game.

Drafting a franchise QB without other pieces isn't smart either.

I don't know too much about Carolina, only watched them once, but do they have the other pieces to protect and keep pressure off a franchise QB? They have Williams, Stewart, and Smith, but what else do they have?(serious question)
