The Giants and Vikings game has been moved to Monday night because of weather.

The roof collapsed. Will it be fixed by Monday or will the game be moved somewhere. More importantly, what about fantasy stats if the game is not played this week.

Yeah for most?/some leagues it's first week of playoffs. Luckily I have a bye.

Looks like it will be played in St. Louis (Dome) or Detroit (Dome). No set date yet.

They're now saying it will not be played at the Metrodome, as it will not be ready before Wednesday.

TCF Bank Stadium was mentioned by John Clayton if they can dig it out, but Brett Favre is a bitch and doesn't like the cold anymore so they may cater to that. Also, the Giants did not bring proper equipment to play outside.

Other options included Ford Field (DET) or the Edward Jones Dome (STL). Clayton figured Ford Field tomorrow makes the most sense, with a FOX TV crew already being there for the Lions today.

Fox is covering the game at the Superdome in New Orleans today, so they'll have crews and equipment already in place in Detroit and N.O. Given that the weather in Michigan is kind of iffy, I wonder if league might want to head south and avoid any other weather headaches.

Those of you who fly in and out of DTW know it doesn't take much to screw things up there.

1. Have to unbury it
2. Favre hates the cold at his age and the NFL loves Favre
3. Giants had packed in anticipation for an indoor game.

Here is what the NFL said. Minnesota told them it was closed for the winter, then they went for DET.
The Vikings and University of Minnesota have worked cooperatively and diligently on the re-location of the Giants-Vikings game. The university, however, has informed the Vikings that unfortuately its stadium was shut down for winter and would take several days to prepare for an NFL game. We are continuing to explore options at other NFL domed stadiums to play the game Monday night.

Hahaha. You know fantasy football is important in today's society when this is the 2nd post on the thread.
Oh, and I'm on a bye, so no biggie.
I just saw the pics. It is insane. What a storm to really knock the roof out in Minnesota, known for bad storms.

Who is going to show the game on Monday, Fox?

Wow, ESPN cant like this!!!

They are gonna have some competition on MNF!

I love that Detroit finally gets a MNF game (hell a good football game at all) and the Lions arent involved.

The NYG/MIN game will only be seen in NYC, Minneapolis, and on Sunday Ticket. Shouldn't be much competition for ESPN (their TV contract doesn't allow for competition, basically)

cheaper for Fox to stay set up indoors in Detroit for a game than go to Gophers stadium.

It would take a couple of days to set up the UM stadium from shut-down status under the best of conditions - rigging the broadcast equipment stocking concessions, getting ground staff in place, etc. Having to do so when the city is buried under foot and a half of snow would be impossible.

The NFL was very careful to blame UM for the situation - but there was no way in hell they were going to hold that game at an outdoor venue on 24 hours notice.

Anyone in Detroit, god forbid? :D Saw that they will be giving free general admission tickets for the game starting at 9:00 am. Would be a sweet way to see an NFL game for free.

NFL did the same thing when they had to relocate a Chargers game to Sun Devil Stadium because of wildfires in 2003.
