I know in Malaysia if you get caught smoking weed, you get the death penalty. In America its illegal, but the punishment is really a slap on the wrist. Over there, the drinking age is 18..but its really not enforced (dont check ids). Drinking age over here is 21 and I would say law enforcement cracks down on drinking more than marijuana here.

How do some other of our laws compare to other countries?

I'm pretty sure you need to be caught trafficking, as in you get caught with a significant amount. Lesson being, if you're in Malaysia and have to smoke weed, make sure you don't purchase too much of it.

Perhaps they watched "Return to Paradise" once too often.

According to the U.S. state department you need 7 oz of Meigs Gold to get the trafficking charge, can't see why anyone needs that much:

You aren't allowed to walk around naked in your own home in Singapore.

True, but this is just a cultural difference. In Singapore balconies, decks, other outdoor properties are considered to be IN your home. In fact in property descriptions they add the area of such to the square footage - thus a 1200 square foot apartment isn't a 1200 square foot apartment if it has a balcony. The law isn't any different than in the U.S. I can't strut around on our front stoop nude.

It is also true that you can't sell chewing gum in Singapore. It is legal to possess it, legal to use it, but stores within the country can't sell it. So if you visit and need to chew, pack up.

I know in Portugal, there are legalized amounts of virtually all drugs. You are allowed to have on your person equal to about what they consider to be 3 days supply of those drugs. While their limit for LSD is 15 micro-grams (about 1/6 of 1 hit), and cannabis is 2.5g it is still very nice to see some countries attempting new ideas to tackle drug use and addiction problems.

In Norway, Sweden and the like traffic tickects are based on income and number of children. For example if Bill Gates gets a speeding ticket here in the US it might be $100, do you think he cares about $100? no, that wont deter him from speeding. Now in Norway he may have to pay $10,000,000, that may make him think twice,

In the US the insurance companies pretty much tell our congress what bills to enact ..It is a very corrupt government we have ..that is why we are in such a mess... Weed should be legal everywhere and taxed...Betting on football and other pro sports should be as legal as getting a lottery ticket ..Everybody does it but it is a kickback industry ..corrupt as hell ...but dont dare say anything public ...The middle eastern countries are inhumane if you are even blamed for being gay you could be killed ....................I like Holland prostition is legal and weed is legal ...I like some things about Singapore ..If you get caught vandalising you take soem corporal punishment in public ........Our system is juct plain corrupt ...Truely good people do not get elected as public servants ...and if one or two slip in they dont have much of a voice...Jessy Ventura former governor of Minnesota is one that I like ......
