So, is there ever a time when you feel that your team won or lost a game inexplicably because of a loss or win that happened in the past?

As an Ohio U alum, I'm wastedly convinced that happened to us. In men's basketball last year, Kent State was the best team in the MAC. In the tournament, OU beat them on the way to making it to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. I believe they lost twice to them in the regular season, but won when it truly counted.

So, a couple weeks ago, Kent dominates OU to give Miami (who OU beat something like 34-13) the MAC East title and the opportunity to upset Northern Illinois and be the MAC champs...which they did. I'm still pissed the fuck off about this. I loved the OU winning the MAC and then kicking GT the fuck out of the tournament part...but this deal with watching a rival team we killed winning the MAC in another sport...enrages me.

I can't be the only one who's felt this way at one time or another (good fortune in one sport leads to the rival city/college ripping your heart out in another), so share your stories of woe to make me less homicidal. Or at least make a few up so I don't feel this drunk thread went to waste after I eventually remember I made it.
