Police said the customer was reportedly causing a disturbance Thursday afternoon at the restaurant on the city's east side and tried to hit the worker, who swung back.
Sounds like self defense to me, although I don't think he'll be keeping his mcjob.

Most BK's are franchises, so they might have to try and settle with the franchise owner.

The franchise will not be responsible unless they negligently hired a person known to cause such an action. But with today’s idiotic juries and liberal judges they might need to make a payout. It should be thrown out summary judgement.

exactly........... if you take a swing at someone you just might get punched back. I don't condone hitting old people or beating women if not necessary, but different people react differently and some people should think before they act. I don't go around trying to fight big ass NFL lineman because I think they wont hit me back due to the fact they are twice as big as me.

When you sue, you sue as many people as you can and go hard after who has the money. BK will get sued, and they will probably just settle for a lot of money, even if they arent at fault at all.

There's no way the worker should have been arrested, he hit the guy in self defense.

Now, if he repeatedly struck him while he was on the ground, that's a different story.

This is no different than a gas station clerk that fights back in a robbery. Money says you don't hear another thing about this.

And really no shocker that its in Detroit.

The Huff said the worker was charged but the article says that no decision on filing charges was mad Friday. All that has been ruled on was that the death was a homicide. The employee might not even be charged if the DA is smart.

The bad thing is, the dude was homeless, so obviously his family didn't care about him, but now they'll be coming out of the woodwork to try to get some money out of this. If he didn't have any family, there would be nobody to sue BK.
