I thought I should put this here but anyone else going to the game? Michigan State vs Michigan in college hockey game...it's sold out. Can't say I can imagine what 110,000 hockey fans is going to look like

I want to go so badly and I hate both teams.
OSU played Wisconsin at Lambeau a few years ago.

This is not the first time both teams have done this, a few years ago they did it in East Lansing.

But, college hockey in Michigan is that big.

Yea I'm a huge college hockey fan and yes college hockey is everything up there. When they play games at the Joe they usually put 13,000+ people in there for regular games and for the CCHA Championship it was completely sold out. Ha I won't lie Ohio State is my team but my hate for everything Michigan has led me to root for the Spartans big time in hockey. Still 110,000 for a hockey game is unbelievable

Ha well eventually when they're in the same conference. Sounds like we're headed towards a Big Ten Hockey Conference

The only thing I don't like about these outdoor hockey games...

Normally the crowd is soooo far from the ice. If there were a way to get some seats on the boards, it would be even better. But even without it, it looks pretty nuts. Imagine that flickr pic with the stands full. That's nuts and props to the schools.

They've been doing this for a few years now. I know they played at Spartan Stadium last year, not sure if they played at Michigan Stadium the year before that though.

Even though I hate Michigan, I wanted to go to this game a lot.

Here's a pic from the game in East Lansing:

Game at Camp Randall Stadium last year:

emulating the nba all star game from last year would be the most ideal thing for these outdoor hockey games...get the fans right up on the ice

Michigan wins 5-0. 113,411 in attendance, a new Big House record.

I watch the first 2 periods, it was pretty cool. But, once it was 3-0, I lost interest. Man, is MSU bad this year.

That flyover was awesome and so was the crowd. Btw yes Michigan State did not belong on that ice at all, I mean Michigan totally dominated that game...however if that disallowed goal counts it completely changes the outcome in my opinion. Here's my pic from pre-game....

If done right.
1. OSU would have to get much better. Right now they are below .500 in the CCHA.
2. It would have to be against Michigan or Wisconsin. Otherwise, I doubt many people would show up.

How about Michigan vs Miami OH @ Paul Brown Stadium

Talk about a huge game between two of the biggest players in College Hockey
