Bexley beat Centennial due to a tiebreaker (most falls).
Centennial beat Harvest Prep , but lost most of the actual matches but Centennial won due to having a full team.

OMG! That is rediculous! What is even the point in having the dual? So each team only had 4 guys?

I TOTALLY disagree with the above post. Why not have the meet? Why should those 8 warriors who went out to wrestle be punished because not enough boys in the school manned up to wrestle? If anything, we should be praising the 8 for having the gumption to go out when many of their classmates are obviously indifferent.

Hey CountingtheLights,
I was aware that there were only 4 kids on each team. I think it is awesome of thos ekids to want to wrestle and to make the sport grow even more, but if i was the coach of a team with a full roster or a pretty decend roster that was full, there is no way i would schedule a dual with a team that has only 4 ghuys. one of there guys had better be a state placer and i had better have a kid who is pretty good wreslting him. I wasnt saying they should just lay down and die, just that i personally feel it is crazy to schedule a dual with a team with only 4 guys.

I have seen this done where the coach with the full rooster finds himself with this kind of match scheduled and the full team forfeits the unmanned weights, thereby saving his wrestlers scheduling points and allowing them to wrestle elsewhere during the season. Of course it wasn't a league match and there wasn't some sort of conference title on the line. It was just a dual between 2 schools and 1 of them turned out to only have half a team that year. Still, was classy and smart of the coach with the full roster.

being a former coach of a team who had a hard time filling a FULL roster (it rarely dipped below 10 weight classes, but it did) In situations of duels you hold the *Cough* never happened exhibition matches in there. You have to get kids their mat time. Even if they are only going to be out there 30 seconds and get twisted into a pretzel. Teams are getting smaller....and I hate to see it happen like that....

I talked to an assistant from Prep last night and he said Bexley had 13 kids, Centennial had over 20, and I think he said Prep has 8 kids.

see now i can see 8 or 13 but it was made out to be that it was they each had 4 kids. I think i may have read the post wrong,. I thought bexley would have mofre than 4 kids, they dont always have a full team, but they have those 1 or 2 kids who are pretty tough on there 8-12 man squad. now prep i could see having low numbers.

What do you mean by save points? You are only allowed to schedule 20 points and the kids can wrestle 20 points worth of matches. It isn't like the old days when you could schedule more matches then a wrestler can wrestle. So if you don't have a "B" team then when do they get the extra matches unless they wrestle JV?
