Drop in the bucket

How much do you or no drop into the Salvation Army bucket?

I always have a buck ready on my way out plus the change from the purchase. ..

If I have change I drop it in. Although I prefer to give to places that I can get a receipt for selfish reasons.

I think it'd be interesting to see the effect of growing debit card use on their donations. I think it would be a great idea if they could somehow get an agreement with Walmart or someplace where they ask if they want your purchase rounded up to the nearest dollar with that amount going to the Salvation Army.

/me should be hired by the Salvation Army.

If I donate I try to donate to places that 75% goes to what its suppose to go to. Not sure the salvation army is in that range so I stick to local places that I know do that.

I've seen the same people standing outside the local salvation army for years. These places do more harm than good, its the whole "teach a man to fish" thing. All they do is create generations of lazy asses.

I'll occasionally drop money into the buckets, but for the most part, the SA is one of the places that I donate too on a yearly basis.
Alot of people don't realize the good that SA really does and everything that it's involved with. Talking about locality and not necessarily nationally.

I never give to them, but if I have my daughter with me I'll give her a buck or two to put in the bucket. I guess I want her to be more generous than I am.

I pretend I'm on my cell phone and walk by them.

I kid I kid....I drop whatever change or $1's I have on me in the bucket, and when my daughter is old enough I will have her do it.

I usually just throw a $20 or whatever is my pocket. I tend to "make it rain" anytime I'm in public, the SA just happens to be for a good cause.
