As promised...

Carolina heads to Champaign after a disappointing performance in Puerto Rico and 2 semi-OK games against lesser comp.

Illinois may be my darkhorse Big Ten champion pick.

If Carolina can shoot it well from the outside, I think they win. If not, it's going to be a LONG night.

Heels look OK to start out here. Still WAY too many turnovers though.

UNC can dominate inside. Zeller and Hensen are both way to mobile for Tisdale to guard and Davis cant guard both.

That said, Ill take the Illini by 4.

I'm wondering if anyone else noticed how much trouble Illinois had with the press early on.

Zeller just picked a real cheap foul out top for his 3rd.

The way this team turns the ball over makes me sick.

Carolina really is hanging tough, and with Zeller on the bench. I'm surprised to see this. Of course, posting this early on a UNC game thread is never a good idea. So I'll keep my comments neutral.

After playing a decent first half, Carolina made every mistake possible in the final minute. Down by 7 at the half is not a good place for this team to be.

Henson is really playing well. If Zeller can stay in the game in the second half, the Heels might have a chance.

Henson played a great half until that last possession. Got a rebound with 8 seconds left, thinking there was only 1 or 2 left and threw up a half hook, half prayer from the baseline.

One thing you are taught from the beginning when playing ball, know time and score at all times.

Yeah, he definitely thought there was less time on the clock. Carolina has a lot of trouble doing the little things right. Until they start being more aware, and simply executing, they're just not going to beat good teams. This is a BIG half for this basketball team. They NEED this win.

The first two defensive possessions are a perfect example of how unaware this team is. Those defensive breakdowns are inexcusable.

yeah not how you want to come out and start the half defensively at all.

Apparently Zeller has forgotten how to make free throws...

but Drew hasn't forgotten how to turn the ball over.

4 on 2 and Drew tries a bounce pass into a crowd that leads to a 5 on 1 lay up at the other end...smh

When the fuck will Larry Drew learn to play the position of PG at the college level. I had a PG on my 8th grade team that I coached that is a better PG than him

Well, this is over. 4-3 with Kentucky coming to town.

Shabazz Muhammad will be at the game in Chapel Hill. I'd say it'll be more of recruiting tool for UK than for Carolina.

I say never. I've tried to be patient with him, but he just doesn't have it. I think it's partially a mental thing, but it's also the fact that he's just not an elite college level talent, in my opinion.

Same here.

I really thought he would get it this year. He played pretty well towards the end of last year and into the NIT. But he has come out this year looking like the same old pathetic excuse for a PG.

Would be nice to see someone else step up and play well in addition to Henson.

Of course that would require not turning the ball over every time down the floor, so it's probably too much to ask.

I really can't even watch this anymore.

No box outs. Turning it over every possession. Chucking up stupid ass shots.

I'll tune back in for the final score.
