So my wife comes home today and is telling me about how one of her co-workers/close friends told her that Walmart will meet any price offered in a competitors ad. I have heard this for other retailers in the past but not for Walmart. As such, I was hoping that someone could help me find proof that they do this and any stipulations/fine print that they might have. I did a quick search on Walmart.com but couldn't find anything....so I have come to OC for help...

i didn't click the link but it's my understanding that you have to produce the add and they'll match it.

At Walmart stores, customers can bring in competitors ads and Walmart says it will match the price of any identical product at the register. The offer does not apply to online purchases.

Walmart's official site says this:
Our unbeatable promise:
Store managers make the final decision in always taking care of our customers, but we do have guidelines for matching our competition.

We do honor "Preferred Shopping Card" advertised prices. Must be like items, be advertised and require a competitor's shopping card, for the discount to apply.
We do not honor advertisements that require a purchase in order to receive the advertised price or free product.
We do not honor "Buy One / Get One Free" advertisements.
We do not honor double or triple coupons or percent off advertisements.
We do not honor other retailers' "Misprinted" advertised prices.
We do not honor Internet Pricing.
We do not honor competitor advertisements from outside of the store's or Club's local trade territory.

so it looks like yes, they do honor this deal, but there are plenty of stipulations that don't allow to happen

I've done it plenty of times, no problem. A lot of places will have the Sunday ads right at the register. You bring an ad in that states the price, and you get it for that price. It's pretty simple. No 'hidden' stipulations to it or anything really.

My daughter has been using this Wal Mart claim for years now. She always takes in grocery ads, housewares, health and beauty ads, or whatever , from all different stores (chains and/or locals) and Wal Mart as far as I know has not turned her down
