So which trip should I pick (planning 10-14 days)?

1. Ireland (mainly Dublin) and England (mainly London)
2. Italy (all over the place) with a short trip to Barcelona

Hard to choose since I'd love to do both.

If you want a more "European" Europe trip probably take the 2nd trip.

Italy.

Ireland and England are great, obviously, but if all things are equal (like you can afford either comfortably, etc.), gotta go with Italy.

No question, Italy/Spain. From a purely city planning perspective, I would love to visit Barcelona.

Dublin is meh. London kicks so much ass it isn't even funny. I spent the summer in Scotland, so I am very partial to it, but Amsterdam was my favorite city by far.

I've been to Italy, and trust me, the answer is Italy/Spain.

The food in Italy is out of this world.

I have to vote for Italy and Spain as well.

Italy/Spain.

I've been to England, briefly, and was more concentrated on meeting family and learning ancestory. But, I'd love to take another trip and just experience it more thoroughly.

BUT, I'd love to start at the mountains in northern Italy and eat my way down through the boot. And then Sicily. Mmmmm!

Just spent a week in Italy, and it was awesome (went to Venice, Florence and Rome). Do it!

I'd go with Italy.

For myself I would pick Ireland but I'm a different kind of cat. I'm going to Ireland with a cousin in a year or so. I can't wait.

Tough choice. Personally I'd go to Italy, but I've already been to England, Ireland, and Spain. Italy would be the best for quality sites and food. English food is very very "meh".

Barcelona is amazing....one of the best times I've had in my life. BUT London is also the bomb, probably my favorite city I've ever been to/lived in.

So just research what you want to do and go from there.

I agree with this. It was nothing to write home about.
