It's a Minor League deal, Willis is only 28... Would be sweet if he could turn things around.

I hope to God he doesn't pitch once for the Reds...unless of course he has some crazy turnaround, but I just don't see it.

Very little risk here, but Willis could possibly have some gas left in the tank.
Hell, if he can manage to pass on some wisdom to Chapman he would be worth the investment.

Yeah. You know that occasional start Volquez had last year where he seemed to walk everyone and struggled to throw strikes? Right now for Dontrelle, that's the norm.

Mooney hit it I think. This is a move to get him around the young pitchers and hey what if he suddenly found it?!!? Little risk in the deal, so why not.

I don't understand why a team wouldn't try to make Willis a Rick Ankiel type. Sign him to a minor league deal, and see what he can do as an outfielder.

Not to mention, Willis suffers from an anxiety disorder which has no doubt contributed to (if not just blatantly caused) his career slide.....if Joey Votto could help him with that and the dude could get his head on straight....who knows what could happen.

As an Indians fan....
Great signing. I would say this about any team who signed him to a minor league contract. Minimum risk, huge reward. Could he fail? Yes. Will he probably? Yes. But if he fails, it is a failed investment? No.
I hope the Reds can turn him around.

Hard to believe Willis was breaking the bank a few years ago. I have no issue with this move. If he turns it around, it was a bargain. If he sucks they'll get rid of him.

Mooney not sure if I want Willis in Chapman's ear. I went to Toledo to watch his first rehab start (an opportunity for him to get back into the majors) and he failed to cover 1st base on a ball hit to the right side and he failed to cover behind home plate on a throw from the outfield. All the buzz about him pitching and he got more boo'ed off the mound. I liked the guy until then, now I question his heart and his head.
