Anyone know anything about this? Does it work? Is it harmless? Do you use it? Thanks.

I have a range of IPs that I block from connecting. But I wouldn't really be worried without using it. I'm a pretty bad torrenter in that I don't seed much (although I do seed new Linux kernals and the like occasionally).

I use Peerblock. Not sure if it works, but I havent got any notifications from Roadrunner since I started using it.

More specifically I use the Bluetack ipfilter with uTorrent's ipfilter.dat setting.

I use to get warnings from Massillon Cable all the time until you told me about Peerblock 6 months ago or so, since using it, I've received none. I'm guessing it works.

Peerblock is great. It's not 100% effective, but there is nothing out there that is 100% effective. A good analogy would be to say downloading without it is like fucking someone you don't know without a condom. But even if you wear a condom you're not guaranteed to be fully protected. Though I'd say it's your best option for protection when torrenting.
