As a 4th line center he can and will be replaced by Letestu or Jeffrey.
Game against Chicago at 3.

rock_knutne;684945 wrote:Yeah, they should get rid of Talbot, especially after setting up that shorthanded goal to Matt Cooke.
BTW, Talbot is NOT a 4th line center! He's a utility guy that plays where ever he's needed. If given the chance, Talbot could be an easy 20 goal scorer.
The_Crosby_Show;685079 wrote:Dude, Talbot is a 4th line center. He was magic one season and you've had a hard on for him.
Yes, he had a nice pass but that was the first time in a long ass time he made a good offensive play.
Just to let you know again, Letestu and Jeffrey>Talbot.

rock_knutne;684444 wrote:I was just looking at the standings in the East and I have to laugh at some of the so called experts who have been saying the Pens are in a free fall. Yeah, times have been tough without Sid, Geno and the multitude of injuries but Pittsburgh is still only 5 points behind Philly for the conference lead and have more points than Tampa Bay and Boston, who occupy the second and third spots only because they lead their divisions (shitty rule IMO). 6-4 in their last 10 games isn't too bad considering what has happened to the team in the last month or so. If Crosby can get back in to the lineup and Shero pulls off another trade deadline deal, this team is poised for another Cup run behind a very good defense and goalie.

The_Crosby_Show;685404 wrote:A cup run is stretching it. If MAF can play throughout the playoffs like he played today, they could make a special run.

You need to wake up and smell the coffee Crosby Show because you're DEAD wrong on this one! Successful teams need role players and Talbot is one of the best in the league, there's absolutely no way that he will be let go after this season.
rock_knutne;685619 wrote:^^^^I can't see how anyone can say one conference is tougher than the other, both are very comparable in relation to points. Also, one could argue the Atlantic is the toughest, look at the Pens........fourth place in the conference, second in the division, yet more points than the other two division leaders in the East and more points than one of the division leaders out West. It's impossible to say one is tougher than the other let alone call the East a joke.
ptown_trojans_1;685749 wrote:Right, so Carolina the 8 seed in the East, would be tied for 12th in the West.
Also, the Pacific has the Ducks in last place with 68 points, that is 17 points more than the last place Islanders in the Atlantic. In the East the whole division would be 7 seed and above. The Atlantic has the Devils and the Islanders, two awful, awful teams this year. Come on.
Hell, even St. Louis, last in the Central would be a 9 seed, point wise in the East.
Edmonton pulls the West down, but the East has awful, awful teams like the Ottawa, Islanders, and Devils.
There is also a reason why 11 out of the 15 teams in the West have a winning record against the East.

No doubt the Pens are a good team, just they overall, have an easier road to the Cup than the Wings or Canucks or even the Coyotes.
I also expect the Pens to head to at least the 2nd round, maybe in the ECF.
We will see what happens at years end but IMO Talbot's not going anywhere.GoPens;685733 wrote:Agreed that teams need role players--just not ones that cost $1,000,000. Letestu and Jeffrey's salaries combined are a hair less than Talbot's. Hell, he's getting paid $166,666.66 per goal this year.
In the salary cap era, you can't have role players that cost a million a year. Unless Max takes a cut, he probably will not be a Pen next year.
