It didn't matter anyways, if he had to serve he probably wouldn't have gone back. They probably want him on their future baseball teams

By winning the gold medal, Choo is now exempt from military services.
That's great news. This is a guy Dolan HAS to keep if he wants to keep any fans moving on.

The good news is the Hafner contract will be up when they will have to give him a long term contract. They will prob just offer arbitration the next 2 yrs. I doubt he wants to stay in Cleveland though.

If he didn't win the the gold medal with SK he would have most likely had to serve his 2 year commitment OR lose citizenship to his home country. Those were his only other options.
